Binny's Beverage Depot - Vernon Hills — Local services in Vernon Hills

Horrible customer service! The website advertised a considerable discount on my favorite cognac, Remy Martin VSOP, and did not mention any quantity limits. A friend purchased entire case (12 bottles) from another store a day or two earlier. On that same morning, my wife got me a case at yet another Binny's store. At the Vernon Hills store, they also did not have any signs indicating a limit. Yet, when I asked for a case, customer service manager Cindy told me there was a 1 bottle per purchase limit, claiming that it was the "company policy." After I opened up Binny's website on my phone and showed her there was no quantity limit, she changed the tune and announced that it was a company policy "to permit store managers exercise their own discretion in setting quantity limits," and that it was her decision to limit purchases of this particular cognac to 1 bottle per person. No explanation was offered, just a very formal "sorry." Worse yet, you could see by her smile that this customer (dis)service manager truly enjoyed showing me, her store's customer, who was the boss! As you can imagine, I left very disappointed and offended. If you can help it, avoid Vernon Hills...

Horrendous experience at this Binny's Location. Went in for a bottle of Weller 12 year that they definitely had in stock and was told I needed to talk to a manager to buy one. It was early on a Thursday and the store was empty. The mgr J** asked for my # and looked up my Binnys account. I was told they had no Weller 12 and no allocated bourbon at all for me and maybe I should check my "home" store which they said was the Wheeling location. I split my Binnys purchases between 4-5 different locations depending on where I am at and what they happen to have in stock. I didn't know I needed to pick one Binnys and just frequent that location in order to get decent customer service or access to all the products in stock. In the past I have done about 95% of all my alcohol purchases through Binny's and at many different locations. Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Des Plaines, and Arlington Heights are all great locations (5 stars) that I will continue to frequent. I will never go back to the Vernon Hills location because of the way I was treated - Would rate them 0 stars if that was an option. Terrible experience. Im a frequent shopper here and at the highland park store. I came in this morning asking about an allocated item that was possibly coming in today and mind you I rarely ask for them I just buy whatever is on the shelf cause It always feels weird asking for these things. Spoke to one of the customer service guys this morning he had glasses with gages in his ears real nice guy. He told me that there was a truck coming in at 2 pm to come back and he could help me out. I came back and I see cases on the floor and he spotted me as soon as I walked in. Then he put my number in the system and told Me unfortunately I don't Have any for you. Even though he specifically told me to come back at that time with like 4 cases of the bottles right on front of me.
