Mr. Hammett this is for YOU
I so sorry to annoy the popular girls group with my business!! Literally walked in the store, the girls at the front look directly at me and say NOTHING and go back to their gossip circle. When I say "oh hello to me to," they continue to ignore me and go on about their business. Not one time was I acknowledged in anyway by any of the girls there. And it pissed me off even more that the family that came in after me got a greeting though. So I have to be in a popularity contest in this store to even get any customer service?
I just saw another response to a bad review and "no one wants to work" is an egregious and poor excuse for the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life and this is literally every time I walk in. I don’t care if these are young girls. Young girls are not incompetent and this is a poor excuse for little or no training. Customer service clearly does not matter to the owners of this store. Guess what I was a young girl not too long ago and in my first job if I would have acted like this I would have been fired in two seconds. Literally these girls are not here to work. They made me feel like I just interrupted this girl gossip hour, how dare I disturb and annoy them with my business? I really want to support small businesses but it makes it very difficult when the small business dont act like one and have the good genial and home town touch that every surf shop I’ve literally ever been in my entire life has. The whole culture of surf shops is supposed to be welcoming and accommodating? Like who is the manager? Who is managing these little girls in the store? More little girls? So ridiculous. If your business is struggling finding good people to work there, I suggest that you step in and step up Mr. Hammett. It’s a shame because the store has good merchandise but the "home town surf shop" vibe is not there. I’ve actually never had worse customer service. And as someone who has worked many many retail jobs as a young popular teenage girl, there is no excuse for this type of behavior. It literally costs you nothing to be kind to your customers who are supporting your business. Again sorry to annoy you with my business and money!!! Won’t...
Read moreYesterday I went into Deep Six to speak with the dive master for info on a re certification class. This is the 2nd time I have been there to inquire about the class. The first time it was his day off and yesterday he was at lunch. Ok no problem. I walked around the clothing section which is 90% of the store and I found some sandals, Tevas, for 50% off. Good deal. So I took my find up to the counter and the clerk said $40..I said wait the price tag said $20. Well the price tag was not on the shoes and I said that it was on the clearance rack. The 'manager' said well we can only give you 30% off. I said no thanks and walked out. Low and behold, the price sticker somehow fell off and was attached to my pants and it was $20. I went back in the store and showed them the price sticker and the 'manager' and of course I left my 'mask' that I was wearing originally, in the car. She then told me I cannot be in the store. I pulled my T shirt up over my nose and mouth and said here this should work and she gave me a real attitude. I then said "do you want to make the deal or not"? She did but with I felt great reluctance. So my question is this a dive shop or a clothing store? I have been diving since the early 90's and almost all dive shops have someone knowledgeable about diving and what is going on. This is not the case with Deep Six. Nothing against having inexperienced workers learning about the product but if you are going to be a dive shop then have someone there to answer dive related questions. Secondly if you are going to mark items down, use permanent stickers or slash the existing with a marker and write the new price in. And lastly...The customer is always right. Especially in these times....If you are going to be a dive shop, be a dive shop...If you are going to be a clothing store, be a...
Read moreOutstanding overall! To be specific: Madison Heffernan is by far the most diverse, patient and all around top notch Dive Instructor. Point blank, I will not take my courses from anyone else. If I make a mistake she not only have me repeat the skill or action but explains to me what I did wrong without making me feel down on myself, explains the correct way to accomplish with a positive attitude & makes sure I not only complete the skill but am 100% comfortable in doing so therefore making sure I am a safe diver to myself & my future buddies. If it were not for Corey I would have not even considered purchasing my complete dive package at this shop, he listened & put together exactly what I needed. I am happy with my gear especially knowing I will not "outgrow" technology in a short time. Finally a shout out to Justice, though newer to the shop a pleasure to work with, does his homework on stock & if he doesn't know an answer to a question he is honest in telling you so but immediately seeks out the correct information & gets right back to you. Overall this shop has a dedicated customer with the staff I have the pleasure of working with & I always look forward to stopping by for any needs (or just fun purchase wants). Thank you Deep...
