We special-ordered a beautiful emerald engagement ring because the sales rep listened to what I wanted. It was a unique piece - this was my first mistake. We had about 3 months before our wedding, and were assured we would receive it in about a month. After 6 weeks, we contacted the sales rep and were informed of a delivery date 4 days before our wedding. Unfortunately we missed the opportunity to have an engagement in the actual ring. When the ring arrived there were 2 rings - the original emerald in the color I wanted didnât fit the wedding band. The second ring was the wrong color. We were told to take both. This was seemingly a gesture of good will, but it wasnât possible to have the right ring in the right setting at the right time before we were married. The second stone was a very dark green and a much lesser quality stone (nearly black) according to a second opinion from a local jeweler. After the wedding, I contacted customer care who then contacted the store. They assured me this would be made right and it would again take about 2 weeks. I was given a small discount which was appreciated. Two and a half months later, I eagerly anticipated the right ring in the right color only to find the incorrect setting, wrong size, and no way for it to fit the wedding band. After a few tears, a 7 month wait, and three wrong engagement rings, Iâve come to terms with the fact that we will never have the special moment with the beautiful ring we chose, and I asked for our money back, for which we will receive a check in the mail (hopefully). Please do not make the same mistake we madeâŚorder from a trusted jeweler. Now, we will find another ring and pick it up from a jewelry store without the ceremony of an engagement or the same ring in which we were married. This sounds trivial, but indeed something that can only be done once and a memory we will not have. I will say the store managers were very nice and tried to do their best. I donât know where the breakdown in communication was. Overall, it was a happy occasion but the experience has been extremely frustrating and...
Read moreI have been a customer of Kay Jewelers for about 10 years now. Never had any problems until tonight which was an absolute nightmare. I went on Kay Jewelers Outlet to purchase a preowned watch for the first time, I saw the one I liked I added it to cart and then when I clicked to pay for it after I entered all of my info it came back and said that they couldnât use my Kay Credit Card at this time so I got an agent on the site through chat and they told me that it wasnât available and hasnât been but they havenât took it down yet. Really?! Ok whatever, so I decided to go on the normal Kay Jewelers site to purchase a new one and it wasnât on sale either and I have a coupon for $100 off $250 or more and it was last day for coupon. And it said it was expired which in fact it wasnât so I contacted someone at Kay Jewelers again and they couldnât explain why it was saying expired so I just said forget it and I was going to purchase the new watch anyways and then it came up that I didnât have enough on my Kay Credit Card. So I went on there to check and I have a credit line of $1000 and I only have a remaining balance of $92.15 on there, well it was saying that I only had $385 available credit. And that watch the first time that I tried to purchase which was the preowned one it was for $522. And thatâs what it took off my card even though the sale didnât go through because they donât have the item!! The outlet site is a joke and they donât take down the products thatâs already been purchased and if youâre using your Kay Card it will put that hold on there for 7-10 business days. Are you serious?! Only because you can keep your website up to date? That is false advertisement and I got punished for bc now thereâs a hold on my card because of them and they didnât even offer me anything! No coupons no nothing. So I will sadly be closing my card and never purchasing with Kay Jewelers again. What a joke. Beware of the Kay Jewelers Outlet...
Read moreI couldn't find "the" ring and I had been all over town and nothing stood out like hey it's me, not to mention either getting treated like I couldn't afford anything to begin with or like I was trying to rob the place. So I wander into Kay's inside the grand Central mall and this guy Joey comes over and asks if he can help me and I told him my situation with i just cant find "the" ring.. we looked at several, had some conversations and i realized not once did this man treat me any different than he would if I was wearing a suit buying 6 rings. As Joey's putting back another ring he asked a couple questions about my lady and gets a big smile and says hold on I think I have something and walks away, he comes back with what I felt was probably the most beautiful ring in the store and I told him this is it that it was like looking into her eyes. Fact is I felt like I was being an annoying customer and Joey should have been aggravated at least. He wasn't, he kept a smile and never made me feel like I was any different than any other human and got me a great deal in the end. Joey Fox is VERY knowledgeable when it comes to jewelry and matching it to your needs. I highly recommend Joey.. btw man...
