Michaels — Local services in Visalia

The store has a lot to choose from. I went to go get some things that I really was in need of for my projects. It was a half hour to closing and (I get that the employees are really exhausted and tired and they want to go home.) However, I had the most rudest cashier at this Michaels. She scanned items twice and I told her excuse me you scanned my items twice, which charged me double. And she smarted off to me and says " I know what I'm doing that's why I didn't charge for this one,however she still overcharged me and then she scan something that wasn't even in my pile of items that I was purchasing. She charged me for something I didn't even get!! I bought some bags so I can pack my own items because I had my baby with me and I knew I could not take the cart out because they don't let you take the carts out of the store. Well she didn't listen to me when I asked her just let me pack it she started throwing items in the bag, and she was like in a hurry and she was mad and . I go wow I suppose I know you're in a hurry and I'm sorry but I need to do this and she was just rude all the way through. So she told me to Total 200 something dollars oh my Lord because she did overcharged me comma. So now I step aside so she can bring up the other people customers I should say and I'm like not really happy and I'm being rushed out of there and I go to the door and they I knew I could take the car. However there is this other employee that works at Michaels and she was very sweet and she offered to help me because because she knew that I had a baby and she offered to help me carry out the two huge bags of items. I told her that lady was so rude and then she goes which one and I told her the one that rang up my items . The other employee from Michaels was so sweet and she was cordial and apologized for her co-workers behavior and it wasn't even her place. I should hope that Michaels gets rid of this one cashier because she was just very rude very smart mouth and inconsiderate towards me as a customer, how many other customers has she's...

Michaels was a life saver. My son and I were working on a father and son project which was our go cart, it's a yerf dog model 3205, we put in a brand new predator 212 with a stage one kit pushing it up to 53 miles an hour, but it was mixed array of yellow black and I can't remember what else. In short yeah it had giddy up but was egly as sin, a friend of mine had no problem pointing this out. So we pulled the motor, roll cage, led lights and gave it a good wash, then we sanded all the go cart, we also removed the seats. We began sanding it with 220 grade sand paper, gave it two good coats of primer, washed it again then blocked it with 400 grade sand paper, another Wash and layed down 3 coats of gloss black. I had originally purchased color shift paint from hobby lobby but the can ran out mid paint job. Seeing as though it was Sunday and I needed more I was stuck, I googled the paint I needed and Michaels came up open. I ran down there and yes! I purchased a couple of cans, my son got a polished rock set, the wife found a picture frame, and my daughter got something for herself too. Michaels really came through, I went home finished the paint job, put it all together and I was really impressed....

This review really is with mixed feelings. To be up front, at the end of the day - I should have not made the purchase. But I did anyway. I was looking for a very specific book and this Michaels was the only location that had the book. And I mean not at any other Michaels or any other store within at minimum 50 miles, including book stores. We noticed the book had several damaged areas on the front and back cover. There was a 25% off sign on the book display so we decided to get the book anyway. Then we found out books are excluded from the sale (even though there's a sign on the book display). Then they said they wouldn't discount the item because it was "ordered through a third party on the website" and returned and was not a normal stocking item. And to top all of this off, the cost of the book was the list price printed on the book which is nearly double any other place that sells the book (not exaggerating). Like I said at the beginning, we chose to make the purchase anyway. But to have zero concessions on damaged item has definitely turned me off of this store. There are too many places to get craft items...
