First off I would like to state that my complaint is out of frustration. The day prior I called in about a controller for my gaming system that wasn't working. They returned my call and said they'll look into it . The price system they have in place is fair and they have good reviews so I thought I would give them a shot. I informed them I will be in the next day. The next day I showed to drop it off. Front receptionist was nice and went to speak with someone in the back. She returned and asked if I had brought my gaming system. I told her no, I wasn't asked to. She explained that they didn't have a system to test it on and I would need to bring it in. She said I could leave my controller and return with the system. This is where my frustration comes from. I live in a different small town and drove over because of the reviews of the business and that they said they'll take a crack at it. Why couldn't this be conveyed to me on the phone the day prior? I would have had to make three separate trips, give up more of my time than I would like and pay for a repair that may or may not work including diagnostic fee of 50$ regardless if I decided to allow them to make the repairs. I took my controller and left.
In summary. Staff were nice. The shop is clean. But having to bring in my own system and make an additional trip and lack of communication of what's expected of me to bring killed the trip to this...

Anywho, there's the run down, so I came across. Missing screws Broken plastic screw housing it was like you guys got rough and snapped them. You didn't replace the compound on the CPU you always replace it after you detach the heat sink from the board.
And the soldering on the USB where it was replaced was wonky but didn't need to be corrected since the connections weren't bridged.
The job was amateur and very unprofessional whoever did this job needs to be monitored by someone who is experienced.
Also the person who did this job took apart every part of the console where you just take apart only the left side of the console where the board is at to replace the USB just a pro tip so customers don't come...
Read moreI just happened to be in the vicinity of the Visalia U-Tec and decided to stop in and ask if they could fix a problem on an electronic device (keyboard) that is usually not something that is repaired at just any shop. Felicia said to bring it in and she would really try to diagnose the problem. The fast, friendly service was amazing! She found the problem, fixed it, and even cleaned up the inside. All this was done in just a day or two. I hadn't read the other reviews about the business until after I took my device to U-Tec.
