I bought tickets for my husband and I to see a movie on our wedding anniversary last Wednesday. Less than an hour from the movie start time I received a voicemail from the manager, Jeremy, informing he had to cancel the movie showing at 12:45 due to construction they had going on for a whole new roof. [Wouldn't one have known before the day of that construction was going on?] He asked me to call back and they could either get us passes or be refunded the money spent for the tickets-- it was completely up to me. I called back twice at 12:31 and 12:32. The first time no one picked up. The second time I left a voicemail requesting a refund, and if there are any issues or questions, to please call me back. After I hung up, we rushed 30 minutes to another theater to see the movie so we could get back in time to pick up our oldest from school and make it in time for our dinner reservation. I hadn't heard back from the theater so I checked my bank on Friday to see if the refund had gone through. I didn't see anything, but I figured maybe it'll go through on Monday over the weekend. I checked again, and still, nothing. I called the theater twice on Monday. Again, no one answered the first time. I left a voicemail requesting a follow up call. I still hadn't heard anything from the theater today and no transactions over a week later. I called the theater again today. It went to voicemail after two rings. I decided to go in person. I told the guy at the bar that a Jeremy left me a voicemail about a movie cancellation last week. He said he is Jeremy and asked me to go to a different counter to issue passes. I offered to have him listen to the voicemail he left me since I still had it saved. He said no and brushed it off by saying he's also the event manager and gets a lot of phone calls. I asked if I can get a refund instead. He said it's been more than week, it's out of his hands, and can only issue passes. I told him I called him back same day and left him a message. He said he never got any messages from me. I said I left messages same day, Monday and tried again today. He wrote up the passes. I asked for future reference, do I need to come in same day to get a refund? He said yes and it even says when you buy tickets online, it says within one hour of the movie. I tried to tell him that was not the case in this situation. It was not on me. It was the theater, him, who canceled the movie and notified us less than an hour before our movie start time. I even told him I had to take my 18 month old to the ER Thursday night so worrying about the movie situation wasn't my priority at that point. I figured the issue was resolved since I left in my voicemail to please call if there are questions or issues. I am very disappointed in the customer service at this theater. I don't plan to go back any time soon even with the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to a sold out showing early Saturday morning. they had 3 people working food registers and the young female manager was just walking around (I believe), I only saw her walk past us once as we waited 10 minutes in the concessions line. Our line was the shortest, but also the longest wait time. The other two young people working knew what they were doing, they’d obviously worked there for more than a day, but the poor young gentleman who had to help us, I believe it had to have been his first or second day. He didn’t know how to ring up anything or where anything was on the screen. He didn’t know what regular nachos were and didn’t know how to ring up jalapeños, which we were told by the manager, when my boyfriend finally found her, we couldn’t get as a side because there wasn’t a demand for it, uhhh ok? Then the poor boy didn’t know how to put the nachos together. A bag, tray, and cup of cheese. Things he would have known if he was trained at all. And neither of the two next to him wanted to help him. He looked afraid to ask for any help. When my bf and the young female manager finished speaking he walked away and she slowly strolled over to me, who was still paying, and casually asked if I wanted nachos still. I wasn’t about to pay for them so I wasn’t going to say yes so instead I told her she needs to train her employees. She knew it was going to be busy, she knew a brand new movie coming out was sold out, but instead of standing with her brand new employee to train him or at least have one of the employees stand there with him, I’m assuming she just stood up front and chatted with whoever or stared at whatever. She laughed when I told her she needed to help her employees. I laugh at how poorly she did her job. And to top it off, icing on the cake, my boyfriend was so upset by this he emailed the theater and now it’s been 4 days and has received no response from the theater, like asked. So here I am! (: giving them more stars than they deserve for this display of work ethic.
update changing my rating because it’s been a week since the initial email was sent and still haven’t...
