Waitress forgot to place our order. We arrived on a Sunday at about 9:40. The place was busy and we waited for about 10 minutes for a table for 2. We were seated upstairs in the center of the floor at a round glass table. Service was slow and it took about 10 minutes to get our order placed. I noticed our waitress had previously been working the counter by the hostess stand while we had been waiting for our table. She took our order and brought our OJ and coffee. Another waitress stopped by our table twice to refill my coffee. I had noticed a few other tables getting and eating their food and they were seated after us. 25 minutes after placing our order our waitress comes back to our table to verify with my husband if he ordered the blueberry waffles or pancakes. After she left I looked at him and said "she forgot to place our order". I think the other waitress said something to her as she noticed our clean table but multiple coffee refills; I felt like at this point my refills were cut off as I couldn't get anybodies attention to fill the cup - not even the girls who only job appeared to be helping clear tables and run plates of food up the stairs-the location of our table made it that wait staff passed by us multiple times-hard to miss us. I started clocking the time. Our food arrived 22 minutes later. In fact after the waitress verified my husbands order a new table was seated 5 minutes later and this couple received their food 3 minutes after we received ours. (gotta love the stop clocks on the iPhones). No explanations, no apologies, no discount, nothing. Maybe our waitress was new. We were there for over an hour and a half. The food was exceptional. Bacon was thick cut and crispy. Hash browns were a wider shred than most hash brown and browned to a nice crisp as well. Eggs were done to order. Pancakes...
Read moreWhile breakfast and lunch here have long been a favorite, I just had dinner here, two nights in a row. Pangea has only been serving dinner since May, but it is clearly my new favorite dining delight. I had the most amazing chicken with risotto and asparagus that I have ever tasted. The sauce was the key, so much flavor and a serving of it that lasted through the whole dinner. We also had the prime rib which was tender and tasty. The next night I had the shrimp taco made on naan bread with tempura shrimp and a wonderful sauce. The seared Ahi was perfectly cooked with black sesame crust and a perfect serving of avocado to make the Ahi even creamier. What a treat, definitely a place for Twin Cities drivers to make the trip.
I have been eating here since they first opened. I have always thought of it as a place to get the best breakfast in the Twin Cities area. The many Benedict options are all amazing and they have the best hash browns I have every tasted. I love the buttermilk biscuits and English bangers. Recently, I have been branching out to the salads, each of which have been spectacular. The Cobb is better than any I have seen in a restaurant before. The Poached Pear that I had with chicken was totally delicious and The Steak and Blue was outstanding. I am thinking of branching out again and try some of the Taco selections. Most are made with Naan bread and sound wonderful. The staff and owners are friendly and efficient, making every visit there a delight. I also love the tables with the Pangea Map. A trip back in time,...
Read moreOne of the worst dinning experiences I've had in a long time. Drove over 30 mins to get to said Cafe as I was recommended by a few close friends. Today is a Tuesday mind you and not even a weekend. Arrived and told to wait for a table for 10 mins. Was understanding of that and totally fine, happy we could get in. Was seated. Our server brought drinks and menu. Left after that and did not return to take our order until after she rang up a leaving customer, greeted more guests, cleaned a table and brought a table that was just seated menus and drinks. We ordered food and did not receive our food for 40 mins, I believe it was about 45 to be honest. We also received our food after people that were seated after us. We were told 10 mins prior to our food being delivered that the menu item I ordered was out. My guest and myself ordered American cheese on our hash browns. Mind you we had to pay $1 each upchange. Fine with that price but it appeared to be about 1/4 of a piece of cheese sliced and placed on top. All together covered maybe 1/8 of my hash browns. Hash browns were cold. We ate, paid and left. Definitely will never eat there again. Not happy i spent my entire morning there for horrible service, Definitely should have...
