There are several really good restaurants here for casual dining. Some of the non-chain restaurants unfortunately have come and gone quickly.

The parking lot of this shopping center is one of the major drawbacks. The spaces are too close together the driving lanes of traffic are too cramped. Maneuvering within this parking lot is problematic. It's enough of a problem that I always give a second thought about actually stopping here. If I happen to be driving past another location of Safeway on my way home even though it's not as big as this one, I sometimes choose another location with a parking lot that's easier to navigate.

There are deep drainage pits for maintaining runoff water which is great from an ecological standpoint. Its too bad they don't put a few fences around them to stop pedestrians that aren't paying attention from falling in.

So apparently I am not the first person to drive my car into a ditch at the orchards parking lot. I had multiple spectators come up to me today and tell me not to feel bad because they have seen this happen several times. One man said that in the span of living in this area for one year he has seen this same incident occur 6 times - nearly every time he goes. So why do they not put up some sort of caution sign? It is clearly an extremely poorly designed parking lot if this is a common occurrence. So many options. Great place to hang out. Lunch time must be so much fun here. I saw so many places to sit and relax or do some people watching if that's your thing. Very entertaining. HOWEVER... on the day I visited this place with a co-worker we arrived in a big truck. We drove around for too long trying to find a parking spot that accommodate the size of my truck. Not such a delightful moment. I waited in my truck and had to keep moving it for other costumers while my lady friend went into the store for our lunch so we could eat in the truck due to limited size parking. Will I go back?
