GREAT LITTLE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK
This three-acre park sits in a neighborhood not far from the walking trails. That's how we found it. Headed home after a long walk we decided to cut through some neighborhoods and saw the playground in front of us. We had to stop. I refuse to ever walk by a playground without having a little fun. You should never be in so much of a hurry that you can't take the time to swing for a minute or go down a slide (well, I hate slides, but I do like swings).
The playground itself is pretty small (at least compared to Ygnacio Park further down Oak Grove) but the field was rather large and had several trees. A woman and her young son played catch and my husband watched for a while before complimenting the kid on his throw. He said he wanted to give the kid some pointers to help his pitch but I pointed out its probably not a good idea to approach kids in a park :)
If you continue walking down the street the park is on, you'll eventually hit a dead-end, but there's a small staircase leading back to the Canal Trail...
