Food mediocre with potential ( fries were served tiny pieces and cold). I would say taste wise, yes the actual burger tastes good ( not a stand out burger, but it does taste good so I give credit for flavor).
Presentation is lacking. Not looking for a 5 star meal at a burger place, but it's one of those burgers where it's all bun and little patty so the bun evelopes the whole patty.
I ordered the Classic since it was my first time. Figured best to start with a basic item. It supposedly comes with cheese, ketchup, mustard, chopped onion and pickles. What I was served was a patty with bun and cheese and no toppings.
I looked at my friends' and husband's items exploding with toppings and felt like I wanted that same experience too. I generally don't take my food back, but it was a patty with cheese and bun and splurged and ordered the meal so wanted to enjoy it. I brought my tray back up to the counter, no customers were in line so I quietly mentioned to the nice guy I ordered from that my burger doesn't have any toppings I think they were left off ( full knowing they were but was being polite). This girl behind the counter cuts in ...no apology by the way and says in a snippy tone " well since you've already touched it we can't take it back, we'll have to bring your toppings. It's not supposed to come with lettuce or tomato." I was caught off guard as her tone was rude and unapologetic. Plus I'm a customer so I don't know the topping rules all I know is my burger had nothing on it and I'm trying to correct it. I responded back to her " that's fine can I at least have the toppings it is supposed to come with: onion and pickle?" Then I said, actually if I could add the tomato and lettuce too would love all 3 toppings. Still no apology. She looked mad even though they messed up. I took my tray back to my seat, as directed, ate my cold fries and waited 5-7 minutes for my toppings. Food even colder at this point. Then I looked at the bottom of my bun and there was only a small small drop of ketchup, no mustard like it had noted in the menu. When a different girl came around asking how everything tasted Our group said "great" as did I, and then I asked if I could have a side of mustard ( it was supposed to come woth mustard by the way) and mayo is what I chose to add since it was bland. We waited 10 minutes she never came back. My husband saw her again, got up from the table and asked again. Within 2 minutes had my condiments. In short. Had a poor service experience and a cold naked burger. I feel bad for the owner because he/she has such a great business but such poor service. With all the other burger places we can go to, can't sacrifice service and we will not go back. I've never been treated so rudely and they're the ones that messed up. Also dropping the bar even lower, my experience at McDonald's has always bedn better. Lol Habit Burger is my favorite and we will keep going there. 5 Guys is a close second and very friendly and I've never been served cold or naked burgers. Had I been treated better and the service was there I would forgive and would have given the place another shot. Service left a bad taste, worse than the naked burger it self. *side note I dodnt take a picture because ive never had food issues before I thought it would quickly be resolved and this would be a non issue. I never planned on writing a review. Being in the Food Service Industry myself, I am very forgiving but can't run a business...
Read moreI'll start with the pros. Ordered online and the order was ready before the designated time stated. Friendly staff and very clean restaurant. The beef flavor was excellent! Best burger beef I've had in a very long time. The hibiscus and lavender lemonade are very good! The vegan options are great! The vegan chicken nuggets were very tasty and my daughter said her impossible burger with vegan cheese was good. They have several sauces that I like, especially the Buffalo sauce. I would like to try the fish sandwiches too.
Cons: all of the toppings are on the bottom bun for some reason. Even the thousand island dressing. By the time I got the burgers home, the bottom bun was so soggy it was inedible. I don't see the reason for putting toppings on the bottom, hence the word "toppings!" Got a large half onion rings half fries and the fries were very abundant while only a few onion rings on top. Luckily I didn't like the onion rings, I don't like the fries here either but these are just personal preference. The tomatoes were not good and the onions were almost imperceptible. But my biggest complaint are the toppings on the bottom. Please consider changing...
Read moreThere are a lot of burger places to choose from in Walnut Creek with varying levels of quality meats and creative combinations. The same can be true of the service you receive. What I can say about Burger Lounge is that the quality is high and they execute the staples really well.
If you are a traditional burger kind of person who enjoys the usuals like avocado, bacon, thousand island dressing, grilled onions and fries that always come out crispy (YUM!) then this place is for you. Their burgers are not overly complicated and you can actually bite into them without detaching your jaw.
Keep in mind they also serve Turkey, Chicken, Fish, and plant-based alternatives equally well if beef is not your thing. They have some Paleo options too and a high quality gluten-free bun.
What inspired me to write this review when there are a lot of good burger places is that the staff was truly kind, warm, and friendly. Their level of service and being told “thanks for stopping by today” just made it a great experience. For a young staff, I was impressed of their understanding of...
