United States Postal Service — Local services in Walnut Creek

I give them minus 5 star rating. This Post Office branch is awful. I checked with our local Post Office on what postage to put on the Christmas letters we were sending out. Because they included a pen they told me $1.47 so put 3 stamps on. Send out 150 of these Christmas cards with a pen over $220 in postage. They get to the Post Office in Walnut Creek and some one there decides that they are not a letter with a Pen but a I-308 parcel what ever that means. Puts them all in a Priority Mail box and sends them back. So far I have only received about 25 of the letters back. Calling to the Organization that we sent them to and they indicated that they did already get some. So some went through but who knows how many. I have a pretty good relation with the Post Office in our home town of Santa Cruz where we have a PO Box. They all are very nice and accommodating. Calling to the Walnut Creek Post Office I can see why they have such bad reviews on Google now. I wish there was someone to speak to about how this Post Office is run. They definitely need some attitude training. My solution is going to be to put all the letters into a UPS box and send them from now on. I will do as much as possible to not use USPS again. From now on Fed-Ex and UPS. USPS government in action some employees just do not care about the place they work for. What can you do? For me if there is an alternative I will use the alternative. I receive all of my mail at my WC PO Box. I signed up for the Real Mail notification service. There have been times when I've received 3 emails saying I'd received mail, but when I get to my box, there's zero mail in the box. Also, I keep getting mail for other boxes in my box. When this happens, I write "Please deliver to box xxxx, NOT box yyyy" on the envelope and I drop the incorrectly delivered mail in the mailbox at the front of the PO. The next time I go back to my box, the incorrectly delivered mail is in my box again! Sometimes this happens 3x until I finally go into the PO and hand the incorrectly delivered mail to a human and tell them to get it in the correct box. OK, so this week, (8/6/16) I got 2 items in my box that were postmarked in JUNE!!!! but had been delivered to the wrong PO Box. I know they had been incorrectly delivered because the owner of the other box wrote a note on the envelopes about how they had been incorrectly delivered. One item was the bill for my auto insurance, the other was the renewal for my business license. Luckily, I received another letter about the insurance, and I paid it, but my business license has now lapsed and I'm being assessed a late penalty. I attempted to phone the post office today, but of course they don't bother to answer the phone and there's no voicemail. Come on!!!! They can do...

this office lost my registered mail and it never got delivered to the intended recipient. when i asked them about it, they could not find it, and they said submit a form for a refund. really, that's not the point of registered mail. the point is that the mail gets delivered as intended with a little more extra care than regular mail, but apparently, not to this office. they don't care whether it's registered or not. they will lose track of it equally.

they also lost my wife's government ID. we know because we get informed delivery through USPS and get pictures of the mail before it is delivered that day. it didn't get delivered, and it took weeks of filing complaints on the USPS site, and it resulted in a "we sincerely apologize" and that was it. meanwhile we had to pay a reprocessing fee to reissue the ID, which they did not offer to cover. the only thing this office delivers well is junk mail. they get that right every single time and deliver to the right address because that's what's important to these mail carriers.

very dissatisfied. do not recommend unless you want mail to get lost. if you have a problem, i recommend you go to the usps web site and file a formal complaint to get any traction on anything. the only way this place is going to get better is if everyone starts to submit formal complaints and it catches the attention of...
