I have visited a few times, even bought all of my work clothes here. They have a great selection that keeps expanding every time I stop by. In general, the employees are very friendly, however on my last visit there was something I heard that made me feel a little bit taken advantage of.
While browsing, I was looking at a pocket level that costs about $20. Not initially alarmed at the price, I picked the product up and was inspecting it. I overhear an employee who was speaking with another employee and they were talking so loud from multiple aisles away I felt like a part of their conversation. This conversation in particular was about the company's profits, where it was mentioned (as a brag) that they had made $20 thousand in the last week. Personally, I don't feel it's appropriate to have a conversation like that out loud in front of customers who are the ones spending that money you're bragging about. This just tells me your markups are extremely high. At this point, I started second-guessing the $20 pocket level.

Read moreSo bought a Gravely HD 60 zero turn lawn mower from the Wood Shed Warrensburg, spending $300 more to buy local. Trying to help local business was the wrong way to go. I may be old school but they said they would get me the manual, bought in April and now it’s June. Been there 3 times and supposedly they had it and then lost it. They said we can print you one but that’s it. Well sh-t I could do that, I want the actual one that comes with the machine. Take your business elsewhere even it means driving a bit unless it’s the last resort. Not a way of running a business. Makes you wonder what else they’re not doing.
Update 2 days after placing this comment I received a message from the Wood Shed saying they have my manual. Funny how things magically appear. That’s ok because another business...
