Well, howdy there, folks! I recently moseyed on down to the Country Kitchen restaurant, and let me tell ya, it was an experience that makes you wanna slap your knee and holler "yee-haw!" Saddle up and grab your gingham napkins because I'm about to serve you a comical review of the joint:
Atmosphere: Walking into the Country Kitchen is like stepping into a John Wayne film, except instead of gunfights, you're greeted with a chorus of clinking silverware and grandmas gossiping about the weather. The décor is as rustic as a tumbleweed and as charming as a friendly cowpoke.
Diner Menu Galore: If there's one thing the Country Kitchen doesn't skimp on, it's the menu. They've got more options than a kid in a candy store, and it's all served up with a side of Southern hospitality. Want chicken fried steak? They've got it. Craving biscuits and gravy? You bet your boots they've got that too.
Bottomless Coffee: The coffee flows like a river here, and it's hotter than a two-dollar pistol. If you don't leave with a caffeine buzz that can rival a rodeo bull, you're not doing it right.
Farmhouse Chic: The decor is a hodgepodge of farm memorabilia, from plows hanging on the wall to cowhide-covered chairs. I was half-expecting a rooster to crow in the corner and a cow to mosey on through the front door.
Nap-Friendly Seating: The seating is cozier than a grandma's quilt, but don't be surprised if you find yourself dozing off after a hearty meal. They should rename it "Country Kitchen and Nap Nook."
Staff: The staff is as friendly as a hound dog on a sunny porch, and they make you feel right at home. If you're lucky, you might even get a "darlin'" or "honey" thrown in for good measure.
Daily Specials: They've got daily specials that are as wild as a Texas rodeo. "Meatloaf Monday," "Wacky Wednesday," and "Fry-day Fry-Up" are just a few of the catchy names that'll make you chuckle.
In a nutshell, the Country Kitchen is the kind of place where you'll leave with a full belly, a big smile, and maybe a newfound appreciation for checkered tablecloths. So, if you're hankerin' for a hearty meal, a bottomless cup of joe, and some down-home charm, trot on over to the Country Kitchen. It's a hootin', hollerin', and belly-floppin' good time,...
Read moreCK is one of my favorite local spots. It's changed a lot over the years but it still maintains a nice cozy, local vibe. I love going there because I know exactly what to order and how much I'll spend. Today, they went above and beyond.
My friend and I went and were pretty hungry. From entering the restaurant to receiving our food was maybe 10 minutes. We went about 1:30pm so it wasn't busy, but the speed with which we were seated, placed our orders, and received our food was crazy efficient. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. My friend and I were also able to easily redeem our CK rewards at checkout.
When we exited the restaurant a kind gentleman, we later learned was the manager, warned us to be careful getting to our vehicles because there was a loose dog circling the building. Both of us are involved in the animal welfare world so we couldn't just up and leave knowing a dog was wandering beside the highway. We found the dog and tried to coax it, but we noticed that the dog kept returning to the entrance of the building and there was a vehicle in the lot with the windows down. Instead of stressing the dog out we went back in to inform the staff. The hostess that had sat us previously listened to our concerns and asked the room if someone had a dog in their vehicle. The dog at this point was standing right outside the door looking inside. The owner was identified and was able to retrieve his dog. Everyone was happy and safe. So thank you CK for taking our concerns and the situation seriously. That man gets to go home with his dog today because of your...
Read moreMy family and I were in Warrensburg for a few days on personal business. We decided to try the Country Kitchen for lunch. Our decision to go there was partially based on the outside appearance as it was clean and inviting, with country-type feel. We went in and were seated right away. Our waitress, ( I believe she said her name was Tiffany) was prompt and courteous. We placed our orders and in short order our food was brought to the table. The food looked and smelled fantastic. My family truly enjoyed what they had ordered to eat and I had ordered their signature "potato soup" and a salad. It was terrific. The salad was fresh and all the accompanying vegetables were fresh cut and crisp as they should be. The soup was by far the best potato soup I have ever eaten. I love potato soup and haven eaten multiple versions and varieties, this signature recipe the Country Kitchen boasts is the best I have ever had. Over all, the service was great, the food was terrific, the interior ambiance was perfectly fitting for a "down-home" country feel.
On a side note, we went back for dinner a few days later. Again, we were not disappointed with anything from the restaurant. I ordered a steak and my family ordered everything from a cheeseburger to chicken plates. Service was great and the food was even better. We will most assuredly visit the Country Kitchen again. Although all experiences are unique to individuals, I highly recommend trying out the fantastic food and service at the...
