This past summer I took my engagement ring to Ross Simons (where it was bought) to be inspected. I was told I needed a new prong, which would take approximately 2 weeks, and the ring would be sent back to my home. When the ring arrived back to me, a diamond was missing in the halo. I quickly called customer service and was told the ring would be fixed at no cost to me. So, I sent the ring back with the information I received from customer service. A couple of weeks pass, and I contact customer service again to see what exactly is going on. They confirm that they received the ring and it should be worked on soon. Then, a couple of weeks later, my husband gets a call from staff at Ross Simons asking us to pay for the new diamond, that they lost during the original repair (of the prong). When we state that we will not be paying for their mistake, they let us know that if we do not pay, we will never be able to use them for services again (mind you, the ring was bought from Ross Simons initially). At this point, we are told the ring will be sent out the following day and we should receive it in a few days. About one week passes, and I call customer service again to see what has happened. I can’t get any straight answers, so I ask to speak with management. The manager I speak with apologizes and states that he will check on what is going on with the ring, but has to get the information from the repairs department (which apparently takes a significant amount of time, despite the department being internal). He also lets me know that the staff member was incorrect and that we could use Ross Simons for repairs in the future, but we would have to pay for all repairs (even if it was THEIR fault). Another week passes with no ring, I call customer service again and the lady on the phone tells me they almost sent the ring back to me without repairing the diamond at all (apparently there is no inspection after a “repair” at this company). At this point, they have had the ring for the second time for over one month and I am livid. I call the manager again, and he doesn’t even know WHERE THE RING IS LOCATED at this point. Following this, I called every other day, and could not get a straight answer from management or customer service. I would estimate that I made over 10 calls to this company over an almost two-month period trying to figure out what was going on. I ended up having a family member who lives in the state drive to the store and pick up the ring for me, because this whole saga was so shady and my thousands upon thousands of dollar ring could not be located by anyone. To further aggravate me, the prong was never actually fixed and catches on just about everything I touch, so now I need to pay for that to be fixed again (not from Ross Simons, of course). I used to buy all my jewelry from this company, as did my family members. I will NEVER buy another item from them or use them for repairs again. This company is unorganized, rude, and (in my opinion) shady. Go elsewhere for your jewelry if you want to ensure it is taken care of and you...
Read moreMy Fiancé bought me a beautiful highway diamond ring for my birthday. The ring is stunning. About a month after I received it one of the diamonds fell out. I called this store and they said they would order me a new one, size 7, as I asked for and returned. A size 6 was shipped to them by mistake. I understand mistakes happen. I live almost an hour from the store so I called and spoke to Joe and he assured me that a size 7 was ordered and delivered. I drove all the way there , and I am disabled so this was not an easy thing to do, to exchange it and when I got there it was a size 6. Instead of apologizing for their error, Joe denied talking to me. I then spoke with Mark, who kept trying to convince me that the size 6 was really a a 7 even though he could clearly see it didn’t fit me. After quite a while I convinced him to get the sizer out and measure it, which it was indeed the wrong size. And to make it worse, they treated me horribly, and I felt discriminated against due to my appearance. I was not dressed up and I looked bad. I am very ill and I still drove the entire way, only to leave with nothing. They also wanted me to leave my damaged ring with them and said they have nothing to give me as a receipt. There was no way I was leaving a $700 ring with them without proof. They also said they had the ring at the corporate office, 5 minutes away, and nobody would go get it. I finally received the new ring today, thanks to Joanne in customer service at corporate, who was kind and helpful. But I have never received such bad treatment or dealt with rudder people in my life at a store that prides itself in customer service. Although they have beautiful Jewelry, and I love my ring, and have nothing against Ross Simon, I will never set foot in this store again, and I advise anyone who is shopping for jewelry to...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing! My husband bought me a garnet & diamond tennis bracelet back in January for my birthday. I had it for maybe a few months and it broke right in the middle of the bracelet. We sent it back for repair and it came back, seemed fine. I wore it, sitting on the train next to my husband reached into my backpack (not a tight fit at all and it was a small pocket, like reaching into my purse) and the bracelet broke in the exact same spot. My husband returned for the second time end of August. Just got it back this past Friday. Wore it yesterday, sitting on the train reading my book went to get up and the bracelet was sitting on the seat. It broke again, this time near the clasp. My husband emailed them last night, told them what happened and refuse to give him a refund! It’s been in repair more than I’ve been able to wear it. They said this doesn’t normally happen, well it may not but it did to this bracelet. I am not rough on my jewelry, I have several pieces of expensive jewelry and I have never had an issue like this. I refuse to buy anything else from Ross Simon especially after the bracelet has broken 3 times!!! Not very good quality in my opinion. Too bad to, because I loved the bracelet, it was absolutely stunning! Matched my earrings, necklace & ring I have. Just a shame the quality wasn’t there otherwise maybe this review would have...
