Honestly run. I worked as a cvs employee for three years, and I still shop with cvs because I like the deals and coupons. I was having an issue with the self-checkout as the coupons i had on my account worked, the the items that were on a bogo sale were not applying the bogo and instead was showing as full price. I had already put in my account information, and everything should have been working, so I requested help on the self-checkout machine. Since no one came to help me after 15 minutes I went to the cashier. She said no coupons were showing up, but that was because no associate voided the transaction on the self checkout, where they were "applied" but the transaction did not go through. After I try reasonably explaining to the cashier, Caroline, she voids the self checkout transaction and the coupons show up. Yet the bogo still isn't working. After arguing with me and saying all discounts were applied she hits "exact cash" on the register so the transaction goes through without me paying and with my coupons applied. She goes through the whole refund process so her cash drawer is accurate, and then not only are we back to square one but my coupons were used up in the transaction she had go through, when she should have just voided it. When the supervisor came Caroline actively began complaining out me to him. That's what drew the line, as the entire time I had been kind trying to explain the problem, and not only did she not help, she made the problem worse, and then complained about me. I had to come the next day to get my $15 worth of extrabucks returned to me by the store manager. Pick any other location, this one is the...
Read moreAs a large health and convenience chain store, you get what you pay for when you shop at CVS. Products are usually on the pricier end (as you're paying for the convenience), the store often will be out of stock of things you need, and it's hard for those with full-time jobs to make it to the pharmacy before it closes. That said, the Penn Ave CVS has a couple good things going for the store- for one, both the retail and pharmacy staff are generally helpful, courteous, and efficient. Even if they can't help you, they'll at least express disappointment in not being able to help you, which is a lot more than a lot of other retail staff in the city. The store is also 24/7, which is a blessed change from what it was a few years ago. In general, I've never had problems getting what I need from the store either, and the entire second floor is dedicated to a wide selection health and hygiene products. When comparing the two foggy bottom CVS stores, this one is definitely the one...
Read moreThe employee in the picture harassed me, while I was at the self check out after I finished checking out my items. Before I could begin bagging the items I had purchased the manager snuck up behind me and grabbed my receipt and tried to grab my items. I told him that the items and the receipt were mine. He then put my stuff down and stood closely by my person and watched me as I was bagging my things. I felt very uncomfortable during that interaction. That was an unacceptable way to treat a customer and I urge whoever reads this to talk to the manager about how he relates to customers. Explain to him that it is not appropriate to come close to a customer and begin grabbing the things that they purchased. You don’t do that, you give customers their space and you allow them to complete their order. If you want to check out their items then close all the self check out registers and have the customers go in a line and deal with the...
