Me and my boyfriend ventured here on a whim after our dinner date on 6/28 around 8pm. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor. We were not greeted which usually I don't think much of, but the man at the front was rather cold and looked unhappy. He was not cordial at all as we asked a question and placed our order and frankly he seemed annoyed while helping us. We are very easygoing people so we had done nothing to incite this treatment. We merely walked in, took maybe 5 minutes tops to view the menu, and placed an order. As for the cookies, they didn't impress me. My boyfriend loves all sweets yet he agreed. They weren't bad at all- very possibly just not our tastes? I felt as though for a place concentrating on cookies, they would be better than homemade, but it's hard for me to say they were by much. All in all, others seem to enjoy this spot and I wouldn't deter anybody from giving it a try, but I did want to make note of our poor customer service experience.

Edit: Unfortunately, I'm a smidge insulted from the owner's response. The newest reviews up until a month ago when our trip happened indeed included some 1-star reviews, showing not everyone had great experiences. I'm not sure if this is my own perspective but I do not consider one month ago as a "long-ago visit". If you the customer consider it so, then you may take my review with a grain of salt. I write my reviews in batches, but I validate the request on the owner's part to have preferred to hear about our experience sooner. Yet, I didn't appreciate the indirect request "we think your review is outdated so take it down please", but I do appreciate the wanting to make it right. I've got some mixed...

Your experience can definitely depend on when you go and how fresh the cookies are. Below are my reviews for my first and second visit. My second experience: I was convinced by the recipe maker to give these a second try and am glad I did. Definitely adding a scoop of ice cream between the cookies enhances the cookies, and the cookies seemed much fresher this time. For the sandwich, I got one regular chocolate chip and one cookie of the day (chocolate funfetti which is double chocolate with sprinkles) with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

My first experience: Very disappointing. The cookies were not special at all. Not served hot. Just meh. We tried 6+ different flavors and none were anything special. Chocolate chip was the best of them. Snickerdoodle was not very flavorful and lacked enough cinnamon. Others tried included: Funfetti, Heath bar (barely tasted the Heath toffee), double chocolate, Ginger Molasses (too much ginger). The textures were all fine (not dry, stale etc), the flavor just...

My favorite cookies here are: chocolate chip, funfetti, and snickerdoodle.

I'm not a fan of the ginger molasses (but I'm also not a fan of ginger molasses cookies in general) or the double chocolate. And, I haven't tried any of the others. My coworkers once got me a chocolate chip cookie cake for my birthday, and it was delicious! Definitely recommend!

4 stars because this place can be hit or miss. 75% of the time, you get a perfect, freshly baked, right out of the oven cookie. But then there are times (specifically 3-5pm) that you get a cold why-did-I-pay-for-this? Sometimes, the dough isn't mixed well enough, and there are pockets of flour or salt which can be off-putting.

That being said, when you get a good batch of fresh cookies, they make up for all the times you didn't :)

The ice cream is also super rich and creamy, so if you're not a fan, stick with the cookies. I've had the ice cream sandwich once, and it's pretty standard-- nothing to write home about. FYI you will need a...

Update: August 2023: I've check back in with them twice now. And I'm happy to say that the manager stuck to his/her word. The staff was wearing t shirts and hats with the company logo. They look like a business. And clean. They were considerate of health codes. I appreciate how my past concern was addressed. Sumner 2023: The women there were dressed more for a sleepover than for work. 2 women wore bonnets, one a scarf, and two wore sleepwear attire. One customer stood at the door and tried to get their attention, "Hello, hello," but they were so busy laughing that she just walked away. I wasn't about to order food or trust that utensils were being properly washed by people who looked like they could barely be bothered to wash their faces and get dressed for work. I hope these young women learn a valuable lesson about first impressions. See pictures. Western Market Location.

The coolest ice cream place I’ve happened across in a while. The general manager was very nice and told us all about the business. Loved learning about the owners and the story. The other employee there was also extremely friendly! Ice cream and cookies were both delicious! Loved the super hero theme!

- Edited on November 7, 2021. Came back to DC after a few years and went to visit my favorite cookie shop! However, it absolutely has gone down in quality. The cookies are cold, hard, and stale. I bought three, usually eating them all in one setting, only to leave 2 left to desire. Please restore the quality this great cookie company once had 🙏. Great Chocolate Chip Cookie! The best cookie I’ve ever bought because it tasted as if I made them myself. It was warm, soft on the center but nice and firm on the outer edges. Delicious cookie overall, the cookie you just have to try yourself. For $5 bucks you get two cookies 🍪 ,which are good sizes, and a small bottle of Grass-Fed Cow Milk 🥛 and they have all types of variety such as Whole, 2%, Soy, Etc. They even have vegan cookies so anyone can essentially try them!
