This place is legit! It’s become my go-to lunch place. Fast, friendly service.

The chicken katsu box is probably the best value, and the most popular item—it’s all made fresh, from chicken that’s never been frozen, so the texture is excellent. Plus the boxes come with a good variety of sides: a salad, some fried gyoza with a light shiso(?) sauce, and a bowl of miso soup. So, it’s like a standard Japanese lunch set, but much, much better quality than usual.

The sashimi is very, very good—much better than I expected from a counter place. It’s great to get high-quality salmon, tuna, mackerel, even octopus at lunchtime. I’ve tried a couple of the rolls and am impressed.

The sushi guy, Alfredo, remembers regulars, which gives the place a nice, homey feeling. The people who work here clearly take pride in producing an excellent product at a good price point. Really pleased. I’ll keep...

I noticed that this new restaurant was very popular during the lunch rush, so I made a plan to return here in the evening. I came in at around 8pm and thankfully they were still open and taking orders. Since I'm not a ramen noodles aficionado, I requested a little guidance from the older gentleman behind the counter. Since I really wasn't into anything spicy, he suggested the Taantanmen ramen noodles. Some of the ingredients included spinach, corn, egg, and some other mixed greens. He gave me the three protein options, which were chicken, pork, or tofu. I went with the safe route and settled on chicken. It took them no time to prepare this, and soon enough I found an awesome outdoor seat where I chilled and ate my dinner. It was very delicious and I will have to make it a point to come...

First time dining her I got the chicken teriyaki bento (lighter chicken) while my partner got the chicken katsu bento. On the bright side the food is very filling & it’s a great portion, I had leftovers. I personally thought my teriyaki was good. My partner felt the chicken katsu sauce was a bit overpowering to the overall flavor. The miso soup had no flavor whatsoever and unfortunately the dumplings were cold. All in all not the greatest but not the worst. For the bento box each being $15 it’s a great price for the amount of food you get. The person who attended us made it a smooth transition and the atmosphere is very nice with various tables nearby and a bar seating at...

Went there one time last semester, and the chef hooked me me up with some of the best assortment sashimi I’ve ever had. I’ve been to many different sushi restaurants across the US back when I used to travel a lot for work, and something about the sashimi deluxe from this place just hits different; it was extremely fresh and visually appealing. The ramen was also satisfying, and the chef was very considerate that he asked if I wanted to substitute the chicken broth for veggie or seafood broth (I can only eat meat that’s halal)

Late lunch at the food hall close to GWU and fancied a stall featuring Japanese fare. Hun kering for pork Katsudon, ordered one but instead was served Tonkatsu. Latter was okay with the crispy panko encrusted pork cutlet with generous portion of fluffy steamed rice and some tonkatsu sauce. However, still disappointed at not being served katsudon which is tonkatsu + a topping of sweetish salty and eggy sauce as traditionally prepared in Japan.
