I called to find information on how to recuperate my dual citizenship as a child of a Peruvian born abroad, which was once mandated when I was a little girl in the 70's. During Velasco's presidency while vacationing in Peru they didn't let us leave the country until we were registered as Peruvian. The guy that I spoke to was struggling with his English and had a heavy accent, so I talked back to him in Spanish to make it easier on him and that's when he became extremely arrogant, cocky and rude with me. I don't think he understood my situation and since I speak Spanish so well he didn't really listen to what I was asking and just assumed that I was born in Peru. He also kept speaking with other people in his office while I was still on the phone with him. He left me completely misinformed at the end and told me to go to the website to seek the information I need, which I have done many times but can't find what I need since my situation is different. I am trying to get an appointment for my brother since August 2022, US embassy website shows NO visa appointment available. I called and the rep told me the same thing no Appointments until further notice.
