House of Chocolate — Local services in Washington

Looks like a nice establishment (although more touristy), however, I must say I was really disappointed that I couldn’t just buy singular chocolates. My only option was to buy a pound of chocolate at $60 or a premade box of chocolates at $40. I only wanted a few chocolates and specifically drove to this business, and was told I couldn’t buy singular pieces of chocolate! I’ve never heard of such a thing at a chocolatier, so it was a little strange. I ended up buy 2 overpriced cookies, which were just okay. I’m genuinely just sad because I wanted to like this place from the reviews I saw. Michael is a lifesaver! I needed to pick up flowers and chocolate covered strawberries for clients. I didn’t realize the hours of operation were not updated on Google or on the entrance signage, and arrived after the closed. It happens that Michael was still in the area and happened to stop by, so he kindly opened up the shop to help us (along with a few others who showed up)! Saved me from having to schlep across the town and back during traffic hour. The packaging of the bouquets was lovely and very thoughtful, and the chocolate covered strawberries were fresh and beautifully presented. Price is worth it for the service and attention to detail. Before going to eat at Old Ebbitt Grill after a long time, I stopped by a flower shop to buy flowers and found a chocolate shop right next to it. I'm a chocolate lover, so I bought flowers first, and then I went to buy chocolate right away. It was so good that the small store was full of chocolate.

It was fun to look at the name of the chocolate and choose one by one while looking forward to the taste. I eat one by one with coffee at home, and it's very attractive. I will visit again to buy it again.
