We were excited about this tour. Arrived on time as requested for the booking and were shuffled into a charter bus. We took the last 2 seats available, which were in the last row. The toilet was kn the right side of us (blocking view out), and the motor was behind us. Any time we were in motion, the motor hummed loudly. There was not an option to sit anywhere else, and the guide stated that after the 1st stop, all should keep their original seats.
Unfortunately, the bus audio system was also not functioning correctly. It seemed there was either a loose fuse or wire. Oftentimes, all of us in the back could not hear the guide. Randomly, it would kick on and work perfectly. The guide was receptive to our issue, 5-6 people spoke to him at different times, explaining we could not hear. He would ask us each start, "How about now?" which resulted in us saying not really. He was kind to attempt to rectify the issue by speaking outside at the last 3 stops (of 10).
At the Marine Memorial, there was an announcement that there would be a drop-off point, and the bus would move to the other side for pick up. There were 10 of us alarmed when we could not locate the bus. Luckily, we found it on the other side after some chaos.
The point is, we travel a lot. We go on many tours, and most utilize the headphones. While this is a commuting tour, it would eliminate the issue with the audio. I understand things can occur unexpectedly, but they were not accountable after the tour
I go out of my way to leave positive reviews after each, including restaurants and small businesses, because I recognize most people only complain, and I see the importance of the review. When attempting to speak with the company (via Viator who we purchased the tickets through and they contacted Signature); we were disregarded quickly, and there was no attempt to listen or rectify it so that it didn't occur to others on the next tours for Bus #1803. They basically said we were liars and didn't happen on 7/3/25 tour.
They should not be seating these busses to capacity for the reasons I mentioned (last 2 rows engine noise/no view to the right). There was one gentleman riding standing up for 2 stops initially until they moved him.
A verbal acknowledgment would have gone a long way and avoided this negative exposure. Seeing the memorials at night was awesome. It would have been better had we been able to hear the additional history/comments and know what we were...
Read moreI took the tour by myself, I wanted a safe way to see as much of the national monuments as possible, and this was it! Add to it that it was during the night where everything is lit beautifully and hauntingly added to the flavor and the ambiance of the memorials themselves. Our tour guide Sally made everything very interesting and intriguing she was extremely knowledgeable and informative. She was very diplomatic in her recounting of historical thought. The driver Chris was extremely accommodating when my phone was barely charged at the end he used his own plugin although the buses do have plugins available mine was not working at my seat but no problem he plugged it into the front of the bus so that it would have enough juice so that I could get a lift at the end. This was one of my most favorite memories of this trip and I will cherish it and the photos that I got to have. This is ideal for that person that's looking for a quick way to get across town and see as much of the sites as possible and have time to take photos and get some historical background I'll also being in an air conditioned bus in the interim of each stop. It was very well priced and well worth it. I highly highly recommend the two of them were the most dynamic duo and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this. They were even making sure the end that I knew where to safely get off so that I could be picked up by my lift without events. It does go until 10:30 at night so be prepared to be out late, and there is some walking involved but it was...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about this tour! I worked in the capacity as a project lead bringing together an offsite meeting in DC. I needed a team building activity, so I called Washington signature tours. I was assisted by Zuma and he was absolutely wonderful, helping and guiding me through the options. We selected a private bus tour for our group, with a tour guide. Zuma handpicked their BEST guide (Dwayne- you MUST GET DWAYNE) and he was amazing. A wealth of information, so smart, so polite! My group was a funny bunch and made jokes the whole time, but Dwayne was SOOOO patient and kind. Even though it rained, they made the tour fun, and Dwayne even gave up his own umbrella. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Zuma came personally to be our driver, just to make sure that my event went well. At the end of the day, my group had so much fun and would not stop raving about it. Zuma customized the tour to be 1.5 hours, which was perfect for us. They even picked us up from our restaurant after dinner, and dropped us off at our hotel. At the last minute, one of my group members mentioned that she was in a different hotel. No problem! Zuma and Dwayne made an extra stop to drop her off. Best...
