BJ's Optical — Local services in Watchung

I arrived at this location at 4:50pm and everything was closed off at the optic center but the website states that they are open until 5 pm. I called the number from the website to see if someone was in the back and could clearly hear the phone ringing. I then proceed back to the front entrance and I asked the person at the front door if the hours posted online were correct. I was told to ask at the service desk since he was not sure. As I was asking the service desk people what the optic hours were at the service desk (it was now 4:55pm) I saw a woman with blonde hair in a ponytail with glasses, a burgundy shirt and jeans go behind the desk at BJ’s optic to retrieve a Target bag and promptly proceeded to the front entrance. So needles to say this woman heard the phone ring while I stood outside of the optic section waited for me to walk away thinking I was going to leave, then got her belongings while I was at the service desk and got out of dodge. I had a great welcoming experience here. Dr. Diann Brophy was super friendly and very knowledgeable and quite thorough with her exams. I enjoyed my appt. with her! The optician's were also very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend, especially if you don't have optical insurance. A full exam... with new high tech equipment was $75 plus an add'l $50 if you'd like to be tested for glaucoma. I got 2 pairs of fashionable glasses (readers). Not real cheap... like $365 all in just for the glasses...even choosing lower line and at buy one get one free...cuz the 2nd pair really isn't free! I do like them! You could probably forego the glasses purchase here...I was provided with an RX...so you could order somewhere else. Although it was convenient to shop and get sized properly here. Also very easy to schedule the appt....

Absolutely incredible!! I have shopping for my prescription here for years! Last year I decided to try a new place and absolutely hated it. BJ's optical is so professional and sweet. They really know what they are doing and love to explain as they go. When I get my prescription updated they explain what has changed and what it means.
