Owners need to just sit and pay attention to the people that are here. Ask why they are hear. I am enjoying the frozen yogurt sitting and just watching older folks doing laps (walking) around the second floor. Teenagers/young adults walking around and joking with each other. I see the space outside and in and just can't understand why it hasn't been figured out yet. This place needs more 'experience' shops and a gym would do good here. But on the development side of the house, trying to get this into a mixed use space as this area is a residential area dessert. An apartment complex attached to this mall, and a pull grocer like Trader Joe's, an IHOP, performance space, things like that would revitalize this place. Change some of the parking space to green walking spaces would also add to it. With some play areas like the Cross County Mall in Yonkers, or the Palisades Mall... People do want to come here. The family arcade thing here is very dull and not as fun as just going to foxwoods or Mohegan for the arcade and bowling. I still like coming here. Sad it seems like it is going the private equity route of investors intentionally sucking the life out of this instead of really jump starting it to make more money from it. The owners don't realize how under served the youth around here are. So many colleges near and those kids don't have enough places...

Update. FYE, and 4 more stores left. Down to Toy Vault (which is awesome), Talbot, Victoria Sercret, Hot Topic, Spencer's, a massage place, Lids, the tattoo joint, Kay and This and That are still there. Am I missing any? The owner of This and That is convinced the new owners will do something, but if you google the management group, they buy malls, let them rot. In fact, they let a one of malls in NJ or NY roof collapse. They wriite off the malls, plus other institutions of commerce on taxes, and the towns sue them. It's a shame, really. I was told by stores who have left that rent was raised, and nothing is allowed in. Close it, or save it. Please. It can be saved, look at Warwick Mall. Also it's a hazard, the elevators and escalators don't work, the only way to upstairs is park one the side of the building with the Buffalo Wild Wings, that is if you can't use stairs. For those who can, you have to the middle of the mall and go up the stairs, only to return to go down. The celing fixtures hang. Sometimes the food court doors are broken. Close this health hazard...
Read moreSo we went to the Crystal Mall because we wanted to get Santa photos taken, which turned out amazing, but the mall itself is a little bit underwhelming. I had asked some local people from Mystic from around that area about this mall and they seem to have very fond memories of shopping here and it does seem like it used to be quite the epic center but as of right now there are only a handful of store still open. Both sets of escalators and elevator was shut down and it feels a little bit like a ghost town in there. Like I said, it definitely has the structure or foundation of a good mall, but the only stores that are still operating are a few large chains and a handful of mom and pop stores. I really do hope that they revitalize the space and start to get more cash flow so they can return to their...
