Let me preface this by saying we always have dinner here when we visit the Mystic area as we love the steaks and the food. However this time we were really let down. First of all when we walked in I noticed the smell of dirty mop water (I've worked in restaurants and that's exactly what it smelled like) and the floor was very sticky. Our waitress was attentive at first and brought us our bread and spinach dip pretty quickly (which was amazing by the way, hence the 2 stars) but then she seemed to forget about us and we waited another 45 minutes for our food. When it finally came, my husband's filet was almost well done (he ordered it medium) and mine was perfectly medium. But the biggest issue for us was the salt...the steaks, fries, corn, and even our son's chicken fingers were salty to the point of being inedible. I almost thought someone was playing a joke on us, it's like they dumped the entire salt shaker all over our food. And I'm someone who loves salt... but this was so much, my mouth was burning and I had to take a drink after every bite. Also I have high blood pressure and for someone like me, restaurant food is already too salty, so for that reason I don't eat out very often. But this could have been dangerous, honestly. I ate half of my 6 oz. filet and about 3 fries and couldn't finish my meal. What a waste! I don't know why they salt the food like this but other reviews seemed to mention something about a new "bold seasoning" thing they're doing. I think they should warn people first because it was way too much. We didn't even complain because by the time the waitress came back, we had to get going and we just wanted to pay the bill and get out of there. Needless to say we won't be going back. This place has gone downhill from what...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went to this Long Horn Steakhouse location today around 4:00 p.m. Although we did not know her name, our waitress was an African-American woman who was extremely nice and professional when she took our food order and brought out our food to be eaten. My girlfriend ordered an entree which she did not like and did not eat. When our waitress came over and asked us how was everything, we told her that she (my girlfriend) did not like what she had to eat and the waitress did not say one thing. The waitress never asked if there was something else she would like to have to eat or if there could be anything else she could do to remedy the situation. All she did was took the plates from the table and left. One minute later she brought over the bill. My girlfriend and I talked about it and we decided that this service from her did not warrant a tip so we did not tip her. I am submitting these remarks simply because the waitress should have ask if there was something else she could get her to eat and in my opinion not asking this was inappropriate and reflected very poorly upon LongHorn Steakhouse. My girlfriend and I will never go back to this LongHorn Steakhouse location. Hopefully the owner or general manager we'll go back and look at the receipts to show who the waitress was because my girlfriend ordered a chop steak entree with fries and I had a cheeseburger with fries. The amount of the check was $29.00 and 90 cents or close to that amount. Finding this receipt with these details should provide the owner or general manager of who the waitress was and get this corrected so that this doesn't happen again to...
Read moreWe came with our grown-up kids as they like their local LHS restaurant.
We joined the waiting list for a table online, there were 3 ahead of us, so we killed time for an hour. In the end, we walked in early, and there were plenty of free tables, with no one waiting. We were seated straight away, and 5 mins later, we got a text that our table was ready. This system is not reliable.
The waitress was friendly, the drinks order was wrong, but maybe we confused her when one of us changed their minds. We didn't say anything because she seemed super busy.
We waited a long time for our food order to be taken, and when the food eventually arrived, every plate had cold food, except for the mac and cheese.
I asked for salt free fries and they arrived cold. My broccoli side dish also got missed. We had to go find our waitress to tell her about my missing side and cold fries. Rather than take my plate away, I had to wait for fresh fries and broccoli to be cooked. By the time they arrived, my steak was stone cold. We expected her to take my food away and give me a fresh hot meal. Instead, my cold steak was put on the hot fries plate and my cold fries removed at the table. A shambles.
The rest of my party ate their cold food because they were hungry and we had waited so long for a table that was free. But the food was so cold, they stopped eating and took it home to reheat.
We think our food was left on the pass for too long and so went cold. For the price we paid, we expect hot food to be served hot.
I think I am being generous...
