My husband and I have shopped at another Kay Jewelers and really enjoyed their products and customer service, so when we moved to the area a few months ago (pre-wedding), we decided to start using this location. We have had several issues with them.
I sent out my engagement ring and wedding band to be soldered together and wasn't told that this typically necessitates a resizing, so my ring came back and didn't fit for the wedding. They initially denied it was an error on their end and told me my finger must just be fatter than it had been a few weeks ago before admitting it might actually be a smaller size.
We purchased my husband's wedding band here. We initially wanted titanium for the strength, lightness, and price. The salesman told us that titanium scratches/breaks easily so we could look forward to replacing the ring several times throughout the marriage and pointed us toward the more sturdy, repairable white gold bands. While it is true that gold can be repaired and titanium cannot, gold is extremely soft. He has had the ring for approx 1.5wk of normal wear and it is scratched very badly and will need to be returned.
We were told the ring could be resized and back to us before the ceremony. It did not come back until over a week after the ceremony. They did "loan" us another ring (titanium) for the pictures, however we did have to pay for it in full and could return it to get our money back. I understand the reasoning there so that is not a con.
Not everyone at this store is a liar, trying to sell things for their commission and screw you over. But it still left a bad taste in my mouth. We will be returning the ring and not shopping at Kay for a while if ever again. At least corporate has a good return policy, but we'll be returning to a different store because I don't trust them to be honest about their requirement to...

We were supposed to get a ring didn't come in on time was even told they would get it in the next day. Never came in. Now I know that is the people they sent it to fault but you should never say you are going to have something in because I ended up having to wear a mock ring because it didn't come in as planned. Make sure you double triple check sizes. Mine came in to big and my boyfriend was to small and we just got the rings. Also please double triple check prices, discounts and the money you are getting back because some can not do the math correct. The ladies are all pleasant but some are in a rush and can make mistakes. Well its only been a year wearing our rings,mine came back not sized right the first time and I just had them put something on it so it fits my finger which is not working and damaging my ring and my boyfriend's ring something happened to it where the metal part has become sharp and cut his adjacent finger. I brought them back and got a male for the first time ever and he was pleasant and sent them out for repair. How much will this cost me? Who knows. Definitely won't be buying the...

Fast forward to picking out bands, I was struggling to find something that matched well and that I really enjoyed. Jeannine suggested doing a custom band and I was READYYY. The process for a custom band does take some time which I was prepared for and Jeannine was great all along the way. When I got my custom band back and wasn’t in love originally, Jeannine was helpful and we ended up sending both my engagement ring and band back to see what could be done. The team informed me that they weren’t comfortable with one of the changes that Jeannine suggested and ended up attempting to do an altered design for the band. I ended up not liking the new design and stuck with my original band and Jeannine was very receptive and professional about all of this. She was even helping coordinate while on vacation!
