Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Waukegan Gurnee — Hotel in Waukegan

I am writing in concerns of being treated unfair while staying at one of your hotels at America Best Value Inn & Suites Waukegan Illinois 60085. Upon arriving at your hotel I was told that was not an elevator in your location, so since I am pregnant, I requested a room on the 1st floor. Note, that I was there visiting for my Sons Graduation from the Navy Academy Recruit center in Chicago. Once arriving to my room I noticed that the sink in the bath room was stopped up. I called the front desk to let them know around 6:46 am 9-7-18. A front desk person came to my room (115) and tried to hand me the plunger to unclog the sink. I told him I am the guest and I am not unplugging the sink, that’s the hotels job. He was rude and tried to hand me the plunger and the put it inside the room on the floor. I would not take it. Then I waited for the so called manager to come on duty who treated me even worse. Later that evening I returned to the hotel around 7:00pm and noticed my room had not been cleaned and ANTS were everywhere, covering the dirty cups left behind and over the trash. I reported this to the front desk and was told it was probably from the sugar in the empty cup. NO, first of all the room was not cleaned, no excuse for this. Then the front desk guy tried spraying some type of chemical while I AM PREGNANT. This was not accepted, me and my guest packed our luggage and left your hotel for a better serving hotel.|| ||||With this all being said, I had to check into another hotel to accommodate my pregnant status. I asked for a one day refund and was refused. I asked for another room and was told no more rooms available. I asked for the corporate manager and was told they could not be reached and they could not give out number. So I am online emailing you and now pissed off because of the way I was treated. I expect better service when a customer is paying no matter what. I understand this was probably not a good hotel to be in once I arrived, but I tried to suck it up. But with the bad treatment, I could not suck it up. NO one deserved to sleep in those conditions no matter what the situation is. I WILL NEVER ADVISE ANYONE COMING TO GRADUATION TO STAY AT ANY HOTELS...

Worst place ever! This be the last time I go there. I went last night with my husband after a long road trip! We both walked in the lobby he walk to the bathroom while I was getting our room. After that we walked out to get some stuff from our car and walked back in 20 min pass by and the room phone starts ringing. I answer and all I got was a guy in the other end saying "Hi how are you and we'll I answered nicely hi good and you?? He said good and he asked me if I was busy and I said yes why and he said if I can make him some room for him and I'm like no I'm with my husband and I asked him who are you looking for and his like room 225 and said my name! And I'm like who is this and he said we spoke down stairs and I passed him my husband and he hung up". All that happen we grabed our things and what to the lobby. My husband was so pissed off that I have never seen him like this. He told him off that I got a call from down there and he said that no one could of called cause other rooms cant call other rooms only the lobby and I'm like look your the only one I talked to thru out the time I was here I gave you may name I didn't run into no one in the halls our in the parking areas your the only one and I told him I want my money back and his like I don't so refunds and I'm like what your name your managers name cause you the only one here and I'm like let me see your phone or press redial and he denied me to see the phone. I told him fine I'll be back in the morning to see your manager owner or land owner cause you clearly saw me and my husband walk in. All he did was laugh and switched our room! His name is Nav so if you see him don't even bother walking...

Rooms were kinda gross. First room I went into the door handle was broken and the lock on the inside wouldn't turn all the way so there wad no way off telling if the door could be opened on the inside. I had my son with me and the room smelt like fresh lit cigarettes so I asked if I could switch rooms was told there were no more rooms available. I was thinking of asking for a refund and go somewhere else but my son was so tired so we stayed. When we got back to the room, my son went to use the bathroom but there was feces in the toilet, he flushed it and it clogged and started overflowing. We called the front desk immediately and he asked me if I could turn off the water. I told him absolutely not I will not walk in someone else's poop water. He finally said he would move us to another room. Which I then asked how did he have it available if he said there wasnt any and he said someone just happened to leave. Right..... anyways we go to the next room and it had a working handle so we checked the inside out and it seemed better than the last. Still smelt funny and the room had a leak in the corner of the ceiling, but we were so exhausted at that point we just slept and then went to a new hotel in the morning. If ur there to party and do drugs it's a cheap place to do just that but to get a good night's rest or to stay withkids, WOULD ABSOLUTELYNOT RECOMMEND IT. Guy working there...
