Lady MacBeth (the wee scott pup ♡) and the lovely owner make everyone who walks through their door feel welcomed. I moved to Waynesboro 4 years ago, & after years of not spending enough time out & about I found this wonderful treasure. My book collection was among the destroyed in the 2010 flood long before my move here, like many people I lost so much and it was devastating. Rebuilding my life was long and hard, but the trauma of so many books lost was too much to handle. I finally started to take steps to rebuild my collection after visiting The Wee Scott. Among the shelves I found old friends, and new thanks to the owner's recommendations. She happily ordered books online that we couldn't find, and I finally have a copy of Pride and Prejudice for the first time as well! She even helped me find good books and other resources when homeschooling during the pandemic. The atmosphere is peaceful and warm, like it's inhabitants, which makes it a regular stop for myself and my children. The scents of the Brio coffee shop waft over adding to the warmth, and I frequently grab a coffee after a purchase to sit and dive into my adventures between the pages. Although my initial shopping experience was amazing ( 5 stars). The week that I/we waited for “restorations” was ultimately disappointing. My understanding was that repairs would take place, however, after a week, I got a book basically in the same condition it was when it was left with the owner. Completely unsure of exactly what restorative work was done.
Love love love this store! I just recently started working on building a book collection and the owner was incredibly attentive to me and my father, was VERY fair in her pricing, and just made the experience one worth remembering, will be my go-to place from now on!
