Iāve been eating here for over 15 years, and the food has always been great. I recommend dinning in to fully enjoy the free chips and salsa, but getting takeout is also a great experience.
The chips and salsa is either a smash hit, or a near miss. They seem to change the salsa maker every 8 months or so, and the house salsa can either be the best thing on the planet, or a smidge stale and onion-y. Still, the chance of getting the salsa during its peak quality cycle FAR outweighs the chance of getting middling quality salsa. The homemade chips are also great, and never miss.
I would recommend trying a huge California burrito, their enchiladas trio, their fajita burrito, or their excellent carnitas.
Overall, Montezumaās is the best place to go for dinner or lunch in Waynesboro, and a great place to eat with friends or family. The food is always great, and the staff are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely Excellent! This was the first time coming here for my adult daughter and I, and we truly enjoyed it! The staff was very professional & friendly, the food was excellent. I ordered the empanada with grilled shrimp, my daughter ordered the beef soft tacos. Both were fresh, hot and delicious. I recommend eating there, if your in the mood for Mexican cuisine. The prices were very reasonable, too. We will be visiting again. 2/28/2023- Tonight I decided to call in an order for pick-up, I ordered the Burrito Deluxe, which was good and 2 beef soft tacos. The tacos weren't very flavorful and didn't taste like they had any taco seasoning in the meat mixture. Also, it cost me $21.79 with tax. According to the online menu, including tax, it shouldn't have been more than $16-17 tops. I wasn't happy with this visit, and probably...

A much better make waiter came later finally with the drinks and he was much better. He stayed with us the rest of our visit and until we left.
The food as far as Tex-Mex goes is one of the better places you will find in Maryland. It isn't true Tex-Mex if you've ever been to Texas or that area and had food there but better than most offers in Maryland. Only salsa though with the chips and no queso unless you ask.
The prices are good though for the food and once you get past a bad waiter to a good one things pan out. The larger order catering prices are a little expensive though sadly.
So an okay places overall but sadly I have to give it two stars for the...
