Just had a horrible experience. I ordered a PS4 online and received it July 31. As soon as I hooked it up I had an HDD error. Between work and my grandmother passing away last week, I just had time today to return it to the store. They refused to give me a refund because the console was "defective." Ummmm, thats MORE reason to give me a refund. It is not my fault that they sent me a defective PS4. They said the only thing they could do was exchange it which was fine but they should have price matched it. I had to pay the difference of $20 which isn't a lot but it's the principle and Gamestop would not have lost anything to price match a $20 difference. After I reluctantly agreed to pay the difference for the console they had, they tried to renege on the deal and told me they couldn't exchange it after all and also refused to give me my money back. I made them call their manager and DM who told them to go ahead and do the exchange for which I should not have had to pay the difference after dealing with the incompetence and rudeness of their "employees". I even tried to use the $5 coupon on my account and they couldn't even redeem that towards my total. Maybe the manager should actually train her employees before leaving them alone in the store. "J" kept sarcastically repeating everything I said back to me, mocking me. "Madi" made snarky immature little comments the whole time and thought it was funny. It is NOT funny to screw over your customers! It is not funny to laugh at your customers when they are sent a defective console and have no recourse to get their money back and seemingly no recourse to get a new console either. If she thinks that is funny, she is in for a rude awakening when she actually grows up and spends her hard earned money on a defective pos just for someone to laugh in her face. When i asked her when her manager was working (so i could come and speak to her about Madis attitude) she told me she couldn't tell me. BS! I AM an assistant manager and I've been in customer service for 22 years. It is common practice to tell a customer "The store manager will be in tomorrow or Thursday. Please feel free to come in and speak to him/her." I tell customers all the time to come back and speak to the manager about issues/requests, etc. When I called them out on their rudeness and unprofessionalism, Madi tried to use the excuse "We're new." Being "new" to a job isn't an excuse for being rude, immature, snarky, and condescending. It costs $0 and takes 0 training to be kind. All that being said, I WILL be contacting corporate not only about the store not honoring their own policy but the disrespect and embarassment my husband and I had to endure in front of other customers because of your employee who thinks life is a game and its funny to screw over the very customers who make it necessary for her to have a job. Not only that, but I ordered a game which was suppose to come in my mailbox since they didn't have it in store. the came finally came in the mail, and it was in the right box and packaging, but it had the wrong disk. Problem is, I needed the game by the weekend. Well, I took the game and package in to make the order right, and one of the workers promised it would be in store 2 days later. Well, it's been 2 days; we called SIX TIMES to see if the game was in before we drove all the way to GameStop to check because no one would answer. guess what? Read moreIf I could give this store more than five stars I definitely would!! The three AMAZING employees there (one of them being Tashya) were so great, they helped us return our Playstation portal. After having such a horrible experience at the store in Arden on Airport Road this was delightful (a review is posted on their Google profile if you want more information). The staff here helped us with the return and assisted us with the purchase of our nintendo switch 2. They were so amazing we actually came back to the store a little while later and bought a second switch 2 there since they were so great.
