Before this visit, I had only been to a Cookout location once, and that experience wasn’t great. However, this visit completely changed my perspective on Cookout for the better. I was hungry, and since there aren’t many dining options in the city, my friend suggested we give it a try. At first, I was hesitant because of my previous bad experience at a different location, but I decided to keep an open mind and go for it.
I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (cheddar style), chicken nuggets, and a walking taco as a side, paired with a lemonade. The lemonade was forgettable—I honestly can’t recall what it tasted like—but the food was much better than I expected.
If I were rating Cookout solely on my past visit to a different location, I would’ve never gone back. But this particular location made a full 360° turnaround for me. The food was good enough that I’ll definitely consider ordering from Cookout again.
The chicken sandwich was moist, packed with a decent amount of toppings, and overall delicious. My only minor complaint was that the freshness caused the bun to get a little soggy, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. The chicken nuggets were fresh, hot, and flavorful—though I wish the portion size had been a bit larger for my liking. As for the walking taco, it was tasty but could’ve been even better with a few more toppings. It primarily consisted of jalapeños, meat, cheese, and chips; a little more variety would’ve elevated it.
We went through the drive-thru, which was fairly packed, but despite the long line, we received our food pretty quickly. While waiting, I peeked inside the restaurant, and it looked clean and well-maintained. The staff working the drive-thru were polite, professional, and friendly, which added to the positive experience.
If you’ve tried Cookout before and weren’t impressed, I’d recommend giving this location a shot. It’s a solid spot in the area, with good food and service. While there’s still some room for improvement, I can confidently see myself returning or recommending...
Read moreI NEVER bother to leave reviews, why? I ALWAYS give the benefit out the doubt. Bad day? Cool. Accident? Heard. BUT there comes a point when I can’t help but wonder what’s going on in an establishment when EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Simple, very normal requests are completely ignored. You know how I know? Because it’s repeated back to me when requested and somehow each and every single time, completely incorrect, ignored, and downright ignorant. I don’t know where the issue is between the speaker and that window but at this point it’s not worth it to bother trying to eat here. Cajun fries=completely unseasoned, not even salted. No sour cream or cheese on a walkin taco= a fat scoop of sour cream. Ranch and cookout sauce? There’s two orders here, two people in the vehicle… 1 of each. Ask for more? It’s “dropped” on the ground when you reach for it. I’m sorry but COME ON?? If you cannot listen and comprehend things that are that simple? Get a different job, don’t deal with the public, or GET WITH IT. This is a repetitive issue and god forbid you try to call to make it right, you’ll get a customer service voicemail. I’m glad we don’t have allergies, we’d just as soon be laid up in the hospital as getting dairy products smothered on food when it was specifically noted that all forms of dairy were not included in the whole order. For lack of a better...
Read moreI came by to grab dinner for everyone after a long night cleaning up. I got three grilled cajun sandwiches with nothing but bacon and a bunch of other things. I got crispy chicken sandwiches with everything on them and a burger in place of the grilled cajun sandwiches. So instead of cajun grilled chicken plain with bacon I got grilled chicken with everything on it. I called to see if I could bring them back and have them remade-I live a fair bit away and didn’t want to drive without knowing I’d get the correct food for the kids. I received no answer so I am just going to make them sandwiches.
I wouldn’t be frustrated if I didn’t say many times they were just “grilled chicken and bacon” and I wouldn’t be upset if they messed up an adults order who would just eat it anyway. The end result was I paid $15-$16 for the kids dinners just to have make them dinner anywhere which is frustrating. A few other things were incorrect but they were adult meals and just the wrong sides so not a major deal. I understand this store is new. I understand they probably do more value or equal volume to any other fast food in haywood. Things still need to be made correctly. I could have saved myself significant time not going to cookout. The entire point of going was to not...
