Papas & Beer — Restaurant in Waynesville

Leaving a 2 simply because the food was good. I deliver from this restaurant all the time, I have also in the past ordered from them and have delivered to my home but noticed it didn’t travel well. After years of wanting to go my fiancée and I took lunch the other day and dined- in. I talked him up about this place, more than I ever should have. First they seat us and in the middle of many busy tables while others were open not as noisy spots were of plenty. I watch a man come in after me, with my menu closed waiting on service give his order. Lo and behold he received his food before I could get the attention to order and had no idea who my server even was. Finally the fiancée gets our orders taken. 10 minutes later out comes the food. My drinks empty. No one cares. Leaves the food, empty cup and not 1 piece of silverware. It took me more time trying to get silverware than it did for them to cook the food. And I wasn’t polite. My steamy yummy food in my face going cold while I’m trying to figure out who I’m supposed to have for a server, or am I supposed to use my fingeres!?! because it’s always someone new and they just blame the next guy for the last persons mistakes. Im sure they didn’t expect my loud mouth to pop off about the silverware but seriously???? Everyone else who was seated was greeted, introduced to their server and handed silverware. None of which we recieved. Disgusting service, coming from a person who has the utmost respect for anyone in the service industry. I’ll never return. I go quite a bit and always happy with the service. Today, we we're setted, the waiter came, took order for drink, left, after some time came back with drink's, took order for food and left. We waited for quite a while, did not see waiter, no came to table to see how we were doing or any explanation of why we were not being served. I finally got the attention of the hostess, and had to ask for more dip and also asked if waiter had quite, as we had not seen the waiter or our food, no apology or sorry, she brought dip and disappeared. Our food finally came. When I ate her, my food was always hot. Today barley warm. I went to manager, who was rude about me making a complaint and stated they short and hostess stated the waiter went on break. I would have been understand one if someone had spoke to us. While we were not being served, the other tables around were being served. Matter fact the table sat at the same time, were served and finished their meal and left, before we even got our meals. Why would you let a server go on break and ensure one of his tables were taken care of and covered. Why would you treat your customers rudely due making a complaint about not being served, and say it was because you were short staff. I have always enjoyed going there, but due the poor service and rude treatment and not even attempt to make right by the Manager. This was by far my worst visit to this establishment but not the only bad one. The service and food is horrible at best. This visit started with the chips. They were burnt and the bean dip was nasty. Then after our food that we ordered finally showed up I glanced over at my cousins plate and noticed that not only did they not properly prepare food but they didn’t even take the time to remove the stickers. After seeing this we still tried shrugging it off because we were hungry. While we’re eating we ran out of drinks. No problem right? Wrong. We waited for 10 minutes and no waitress, so when a guy that was cleaning finally came and took some of our plates we asked if he could get our waitress. He said he would, but he didn’t he just walked back over to where he was mopping. After another 5-10 minutes my cousin went to look for our waitress. He found her finally and after getting refills we finished our meal. This wasn’t the end of our experience since he got food poisoning and ended up in the ER. Like I said not our first bad experience since last time we ate here both us and our food was sprinkled with water while a boy was mopping next to us and slinging dirty water everywhere.
