
BED BUGS!!_We suggest you do NOT rent here. This is by far the worst rental experience within 5 decades for both of us as periodic renters. The management, staff and condition of these apartments is atrocious. Donât let the redone office or blue tinted pool fool you like it did us in a rush. Pay the couple hundred extra and find a decent complex and management team. These are the most antagonistic, audacious (albeit behind the scenes) group of imbeciles you will run into. It is mind blowing that Skylar Pointe's corporate office canât hire better people here. Here is a VERY SHORT list of why NOT to rent here:
They continually broke the lease agreement and illegally entered our home after being told repeatedly not to enter without someone home. One of us was at home daily and both of us were home in the evening so they really had to plan and watch in order to do it. They intentionally did this repeatedly. They allowed maintenance and out-of-state contractors to enter our home against our wishes and repeated reiterations. They allowed these random âworkersâ to have the key to our home without consent.
They allowed next door neighbors with a bed bug problem to go without notification to others in the building. They had spread so long and deeply that it infested my sisterâs room sharing the same wall and not only tortured her but ruined many of her personal items and her furniture. She had to throw out clothing and furniture and various personal belongings. It took months to eradicate them. The careless, unprofessional young Orkin contractor they used flipped our unaffected, very heavy, living room couch from one side by himself and broke the supports underneath in order to douse the underside with spray. He also did a really haphazard, sloppy job literally throwing that liquid poison around everywhere.
If those bugs and following treatment werenât enough to gross you out, it literally took months to rid the apartment of roaches and they returned despite cleaning and repeated treatments. The walls were infested. There is dog crap all over the area from many resident dogs.
They recently instated a towing policy directed at residents, but the real problem is with their own disregard. They allow the idiotic Orkin boys to park in residents spaces.
We were initially told we had 2 parking places for the large 2 bdrm with a study and then after the lease was signed we were told it was a mistake. We were given one end space; the worst one in the most difficult place to maneuver.
They also volunteered that the water bill is included with normal use and they would only bill for excess but issued a full water bill every month. Their final bill was the highest yet, over $77 and we were moved out before the end of the lease and month using only slight water while moving. There is no meter to check your usage either. They simply decide what you owe.
As with management and office staff, the maintenance supervisor has short-lived courtesy that is a paper thin cover for his disregard, ignorance and arguments. He literally bangs loudly on your door including with a screw driver from the second he gets there until you open it for him if you don't allow them to enter unattended. No courtesy and lots of provocation. Then when you look at him like you want to throw him over the rail, he suddenly wants peace. These maintenance men are unqualified, uneducated and do shoddy repairs that have to be repeated.
Management does shove lots of BS âjoin usâ flyers in the doors quickly and run off because they want to be social LOL. The thought of their printed hype is so absurdly ludicrous compared to the abysmal experience. You will get all sorts of other notices in the door including recent burglaries and if it is not locked at that moment they will open it to close it on the note! If you like living in squalor, being antagonized and testing your limits...
   Read moreI have stayed here twice with 2 different leases. So i basically i was here when new management took over. The first management was ok and took care of things alright but still had to many dislikes. Thats not the point now. the point is after the new management took over really made me hate this place more. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT SNOBBY PEOPLE. They are only sweet when you are trying to find out lease information and if your interested in the place. i had several maintenance issues and would call the number to have them come out. Well i would have to press 3 do schedule a maintenance issue and i would automatically go to voice mail. After i would leave one I would not get a call back and no one would come fix the issue. So i would do the same thing again and it would go straight to voice mail. I finally got tired and pretended I wanted information about the lease info. And I shouldn't of been surprised because they answered with the most happy voice. then when they found out i needed to schedule a maintenance their tone changed with me. They didn't sound close to happy. they asked what my problem was and said ok we put it in and that was it. didn't tell me have a great day, or is there anything else, something to show they care. Well when they came to fix the problem they didn't even fix it correctly even after me waiting 2 weeks to get a damn light in the kitchen replaced because it was out. When i called again they answered and told them they needed to come today to fix it because i was tired of not having light in my kitchen since i cook everyday. well i was told by amanda that there is more important things than a light in the kitchen. An you know what your right. but i shouldn't have to wait long like last time to get a light fix when they didn't fix it right the first time. then there gym sucked. more than half of the machines did not work. and I asked when they would be upgrading it and they told me by the end of april and that there fitness machines were on the way. however they ended up moving in the fitness center temporarily because they were redoing the leasing office. no one ever ever told me that and I had called several times about it. and when i called all confused they told me they have not even ordered fitness machines because they were remodeling. she laughed at me an apologized and doesn't understand why someone from her staff would say that. There is so many other things i could say about the staff but i need to get to another topic. But the staff is snobby, rude, do not care about what you have to say, don't even look like they want to take care of you. I was standing there literally 15 min and no one greeted me and all i needed was to pick up my UPS delievery. Then finally a blonde chick came up to me "do you need something" lol yes I freaking do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now about the inside apartment. everything here they will just paint over, even the sinks (whatever they put on there) but all the paint chips off and there is always roaches around somewhere. my next store neighbor moved out because there was a rat in his pantry. i noticed that the prices went u and im confused because all they did was add some new wood on the floor and added some color paint. its not worth it here. not for how they treat your AFTER moving in. I'm almost done with my lease and I wish i could go into detail about everything but I was just not impressed with anything. I appreciate the maintence because I was told that my request about fixing the leak in the bathroom was not put on the list even though I call 3 TIMES about it and I was like wow really and he said i'm sorry but i will go ahead and take care of this for you.    Read moreDO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! First off I was in a hotel for about a month before I moved to this place. Before I moved I spoke to one person letting her know my story and she told me the same day I come in that evening I can get my keys...ok. The "Property Manager" Kaycee is a piece of work. She is beyond rude. First of all, they only want money. I did all my research before moving in. The day I came to rent I brought all the funds they told me that I needed/ proof of everything. I went from dealing with 1 woman to dealing with 3!! I was shown a nice 2x2 and was going to get it til one said there are no more 2x2 only 2x1, so I was shown a 2x1... I was fine with it because the unit was SUPPOSED to be downstairs...ok well when I paid the lady said money order .Then the boss gets the MO and says they do not accept MO but had a small stack behind her on her desk. Then moving pass that, they started giving my friend problems because they assumed he would be moving in when he really came to help me pick a good location. After that they told me I would be moving in that evening...I had to get a room for 2 more days! Meaning I had to get a loan because the remaining money I had I had to give to the apartment people! So then Saturday comes and I finally move that evening...they placed me in a unit along the fence where ALL the lights back there were broken/out, the unit was upstairs and on top of all that it was near 3 men in all units. Now keep in mind I'm a single mother and I made it clear to have us in a safe place because of the pass... Then we walk in the unit was NOTHING like the ones that were shown to my son and I AND the apartment had NOT been CLEANED!!!! My son 2 YEAR OLD was standing in a HUGE piss stain/dried area!! The door seemed to have been kicked in, in the passed because it wouldnt lock properly and unbalanced! I had to get them to fix this it wasnt right NONE of it. So one of the girls came and walked the unit and said she will talk to management and make arrangements she'll be back... 2 hours went by for me to know she wasnt coming and not even a call...we HAD to stay the night up until MONDAY! and then that's when all hell broke loose....and I'm not speaking from me it was from KAYCEE! So disrespectful, unprofessional, uneducated trash trick. I legit thought I was having a heart to heart with her when she asked me to sit down and tell me what happened but after explaining everything she had a smirk and said technically I do NOT live there because I Need a deposit because I'm a first time renter! I was so dumbfounded because NOBODY said anything about a deposit when I paid/was given the keys! So she gave me a choice either my son and I live it or we pay $550 and move... I told her thats not happening .You all messed up. Not me .You all have to fix this .We shouldn't pay for this mistake. She laughed! So I said i will contact the property OWNER! and she goes! Good luck I am the owner. I laughed and said you're the manager .I went home called my realtor that told me about the place and he gave me 1 number that called straight to JACK'S Lawyer. I told her everything that happened .A hour later sye calls and tells me Jack would like to meet with you and your family on Monday...I agreed thankfully and 30 mins later KAYCEE calls me and tells me Jack is on his way to meet with you with in a hour...long story short I moved to where I was supposed to move to didn't pay except for $200. I was supposed to get the special which was rent free 2 months but got half rent for 2 months which I was still content .But things got worst down hill....that is HOW is STARTED .It ended worst!!!
