I regularly shop here for hardware because I want to support the little guy.
The one time I needed a V belt for my mower, I brought the belt in with me. I had the dimensions, part number, and application; all the information we would need.. and the actual belt I'm replacing that we can compare to. I stood at the counter for probably 5 minutes, just counting up to 30 and back down, as a few employees passed by me to watch each other roll out some piece of equipment, each making eye contact with me as they kept walking.
Finally, one of them begrudgingly got behind the counter to help me. Except, every piece of information I had for him wasn't good enough. He was ready to just say no to anything. I finally asked, if he can't look it up by part number, length, width, or the mower brand, what can he look it up by? He just gave me a defeated expression.
Well, from the comfort of my drivers seat in their parking lot, I searched the part number online and immediately had a dozen options of where to buy it. So, someone on ebay made the sale that Charlie's...

I should probably mention that these knowledgeable people are also EXTREMELY patient, which in my book is super important because if youāre like me, a go-getter AND an āif I donāt know how, then Iāll learn howā type of gal, then you know how very important it is in asking every question I can think of in order to ride out this crash course & be successful in the end....then, yeah, EXTREMELY PATIENT PEOPLE IS ALWAYS A VERY IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTIC! I believe itās something all employers should require in order to hire. From my perspective, itās quite comforting to know without a doubt that should I need help or knowledge again with something unfamiliar in the future, Charlieās people will be patient as well as knowledgeable which we ALL know is very helpful in the end! Going to Charlieās, and learning the ins & outs of something new is like taking an hour crash course~being stuffed & refreshed with new knowledge! I REALLY LIKE learning new things! Between 8/12 & 8/13, I called no less than 7 times to find out status & when it might be ready. Each time, when transferred to repair dept, no one answered. I finally called back & asked the girl answering the phone, that no one was answeringā¦she said they must be busy (I asked āfit 2 days & no one answering??). Her response was āthatās the way it is, they must be busy so come in personally if you want to know statusā. She was very rude, kept talking over me. I wanted to leave my number for someone to call ne back on status but she again told me to come in and then hung up. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and while Iāve done business there for years, this will be last time if this is how they service...
