Read below for my "make you smile" experience at Revolve.
This store is good for: -selling nicer, newer clothing, shoes and accessories. -buying gently used on-trend items. -capsule wardrobes. (The organization in the store by item type, color and size make it so easy to actually shop purposefully for a specific item, something I struggle to do at thrift stores.) -buying local. Also, it is out of all the heavy traffic in Wentzville . They are near Pittman Funeral Home on "the bend."
I had a fantastic first-time experience here in February 2020. I brought in some items to sell. While I waited for an offer, I browsed the store. I found the items here to be of nicer quality and more fashionable than a thrift store and the prices weren't terribly higher. One of the sales clerks made me an offer on my clothing, which I accepted. I bought a top and then I went on my way.
Later that day, the store manager called me to tell me that the clerk who helped me had accidentally under-valued one of my items. This was an unusual, higher value piece. The manager explained that there wasn't anything comparable in their pricing system, so the clerk picked the closest option. The manager offered to make up the difference to a more fair offer.
What impressed me was that she did the right thing.... completely voluntarily. So rare these days. The transaction was done and over with - they could have just kept the profits for themselves. Now, they don't just have a new customer,...
Read moreThis store is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and overpriced for resale! The new items near the windows are beyond ridiculously priced (a top for $40 and matching bottoms for $40?!) Seriously?!. This is still a resale shop. Unfortunately, they are also putting out inferior products from Shein and marking up the price. The racks are extremely congested (clothes are too expensive to sell). I question whoever they have purchasing. They appear to bypass quality clothing and gravitate towards cheap brands when making their selections. This store is also not size inclusive. Their racks speak to this. I've had friends of all sizes bring in clothing, and when it comes to plus-size clothing like, say from Torrid, they do not accept any of it. These have been brand new items that were recently purchased that a curvy girl would love to own. You can't use the "out of season/dated" excuse here. Whoever is purchasing also needs to realize that when looking at a plus-size woman's clothing to purchase, the cut may appear differently when holding it up and may look out of style based off the fact that this is for a fuller frame and not a smaller frame. That look changes once a curvy woman puts the clothes on. Again, whoever is responsible for purchasing is doing a poor job of managing selection, and whoever is working the pricing model needs...
Read moreFor some reason, my previous review is gone. If you want crop tops or super short/revealing clothes, this is your store! I used to be able to walk out with an armful of clothes and now, I'm lucky to find a piece, every couple of months. The last year or so, I've seen a surge in crop tops (difficult to find a regular top that isn't a basic t-shirt), SHEIN/other cheaper brands being marked up, as well as in style and name brands not being bought, when brought in. Just very confusing, all around. I know the buyers and staff are human (of course), but something that has repeatedly been mentioned (damaged, stained items), has not really improved. Also, please. Do something about the beyond overcrowded racks. I've worked retail and those racks give me anxiety. The hangers snap because you have to use such force to look through things. Items get snagged if you're not careful and it does a number on the arms. I've been frustrated many times because of this issue and left. I have shopped this store since it opened because I loved Sproutfitters. I want to adore the store, as much as I did previously... but these things add up and dampen any desire to...
