I came to this store even though I live in OFallon specifically because of the positive reviews praising customer service. Gotta say, it did not disappoint. I came in to inquire about the mobile service and taking advantage of some discounted service rates. The rep I worked with, Byron, helped me identify a package that worked out very well for me, increasing my home internet speeds, getting me into Spectrum Mobile, and lowering my bills overall. He was adept at transferring the wireless service from Verizon like a pro and made it very painless. I didn't expect to walk out the store that day with Spectrum Mobile service but there it was. And he made sure to follow up with me to make sure the service was working as expected. Really appreciate that. The store itself was clean, spacious, and well lit. The other employees there seemed personable and professional. I would recommend to visit this store if you had to. On the topic of Spectrum Mobile, I gotta say I'm super impressed. For the price, unlimited data plan, and service coverage it can't be beat. Doing a semi-scientific speed test with an active Verizon Wireless phone side by side, Spectrum actually beat the speeds consistently both download and especially higher with the upload. I can't say why or how that happened, and I'm sure the day to day real world operation is not impacted by much, but it's impressive for Spectrum and downright infuriating for Verizon Wireless customers. The only wish I had with Spectrum is they had add-on plans for watches and tablets, e.g. $5 a month for non-phone devices. One day, perhaps. I had already talked to Spectrum help people by phone for about an hour to troubleshoot the issue and find the proper store that had the part. All I needed to do was change out a bad modem. I had a print-out of the issue and a "ticket" number. Since the local Spectrum service center (3 miles from my house) no longer swapped out cable modems, I had to drive about 45 minutes to get there. I got there as the store opened at 10:00 and was the third person in line. They had 2 people working and a 3rd worker arrived about 15 minutes late. Even though I only changed out a modem, it took them about an hour (I left at 11:00). The issues were: 1. terrible check-in process. Even the DMV has a better process 2. They had either computer issues or incompetent workers. They could not bring my account up and then could not scan (enter) the replacement modem against my account. 3. I called to cancel my Internet service and the guy helping me, ultimately said he ācould not understand why I was making the decision to spend more money by not taking advantage of the promotion spectrum was offering meā (apparently this was a brand new promotion that became available todayā¦ironic). He spent a solid 5 minutes trying to make me feel dumb about my decision to cancel, but not once explained that I would have to pay another full bill since I would be cancelling during my billing cycle and Spectrum does not prorate. It may be in the fine print, but Iām in sales myself and I reiterate the need to know information even when itās stated in writing.
