So we usually love going to academy. But today’s visit was just horrible. We had a shirt to return that was gifted for my husbands birthday. The visit was great at soon as we walked in got taken care of and once getting to the customer service desk it went down real fast. So they could not find the shirt in the system since the sku was removed (because of gifting purposes). That was fine we can wait but then the attitude on the “TEAM LEAD” Carmen began having a melt down telling her team to tell us to move because we were holding up the line, mind you it was not busy at all. We moved fine. Then they finally find the shirt that we took for the exchange and she begins making accusations that the shirt was not bought there that’s why it wasn’t found in the system. That they could not return it. She never acknowledged us about any issues. She even had the audacity to ignore my husband when he politely went to ask if there was a problem. He had to raise his voice in order for him to be acknowledged. The whole time she was just frustrated and had an attitude problem. My husband used to work at academy and is aware of the procedures however she decides to say how she can’t be told how to do her job because she is the TEAM LEAD. Instead of dealing with the issue and trying to help my husband which was already upset she just walked off saying “oh my god”. I would suggest someone talk to her about her attitude and how she carries herself in the store. Customer service says a lot about an establishment. Read morePlaced an online order for a christmas gift and waited almost a week to pick up because they weren’t in stock at the moment. Finally got the confirmation email that it was ready to be picked up so i drove all the way from alamo to weslaco to pick up. I get there & decide to curbside but I end up waiting a good 30 mins so i get off since they probably have a lot of online orders which is understandable around the holidays but i’m once again waiting 20 mins because they can’t find my order. The lady at the online pick up section with blonde highlights (didn’t catch her name) told me that they couldn’t find my order anywhere & that it would be best to cancel my order & look around the store but they would grant me a 10% discount, now this was NOT a problem at ALL but what is really unprofessional & ridiculous is that they’re sending out emails saying that orders are ready when they aren’t even in stock, i wasted my time & gas. I left right after saying no thank you but then my husband decided to call to ask for an explanation because now we’re backtracked on a christmas gift & it’s so upsetting, my husband was transferred to one of the managers, ralph who hung up on him after telling him that he could not do anything about our situation because he has no control over what they have or don’t have in stock. Ralph was very unprofessional & did not help us further understand this system academy has with online orders. this is the first time i’ve ever had any trouble with ANY online orders. i really do hope your company learns how to better manage online orders & emails along with better educating your management....
Read moreWe visited this academy because we were looking for the Jenga like game for adults and we found it. We arrived right before closing time and there was a long line. It was the night before New Year's Eve in on the 30th as we noticed that a lot of people were buying ammunition. That was about three boxes of the game but they look like they were opened items and we weren't sure if there would be missing pieces.
Since there was a brand new box on the topmost shelf we wanted to take that one but we couldn't find anybody to help us so we took it upon ourselves to get the ladder and get the item down.
Once we went to pay we were helped at register one at 8:59 p.m. and we requested cash back and before I could request singles the lady slammed the register as if to beat me to it and interrupted me by saying "I can't open it I don't have the key".
Instead of her being sympathetic or caring, she rudely cut me off. We requested cash back so we could purchase water on our way home but weren't able to do so because of this. First time visiting, terrible customer service by the young lady at register 1 on Dec 30th. She needs some courtesy and concern on her customer service skills.
