I come to this store to purchase worms for my bearded dragons (4). Two of them were purchased here. Those same two were sick. One was laying in the enclosure under the hide( half log) and was being bitten by crickets. I paid full price for her because the manager refused to give a discount. Fine, whatever, this innocent creature deserves a fighting chance. The second one I got with a discount because she Was in that same enclosure (this was like a week later) only this one had yellow fungus on her back. They kept saying it wasnāt yellow fungus and they had a veterinarian look it over and they had been treating it with silver. The wound on her back was caused by the silver. I have both bearded dragons in my home, was string feeding them critical care and was tending to their needs. I went back a month later to purchase worms again, and what do I find.. a new leatherback hatchling who is in distress and dying... I have pictures mind you. I brought it to the workerās attention. He opens the enclosure and puts it in the cold water they have in the tank. This is a cold blooded reptile. I asked how much would this dying animal be? He said 20% off, because it has the brightest coloring of the three. I was not willing to pay $80 some odd dollars for a bearded dragon who was more than likely not going to make it. I took a big chance with the one I took home that had yellow fungus. This was too much of a chance. Iām filled with regret. That animal doesnāt deserve to die alone. These people do not have the basic skills to care for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the worst experience Iāve ever had. The manager (tall middle aged sassy man) saw me waiting in aquatics never came to ask if I needed help, finally after 30/45 min of watching him walk back and forth, I asked at the front to call someone to help he comes to help with a very sassy attitude I was trying to purchase fish and he refused because I didnāt have a water sample on me, is that the policy? Iāve been a customer for years he even got really aggressive with me and said word for word āyou can call corporate, I donāt care. itās at the managers discretion to sell I asked to see the policy and he went and locked himself in an office by the registerās I live in Brownsville and came all the way to see if your store had pretty fish I am a fish hobbyist and know exactly what Iām doing when it comes to aquatics very very unprofessional employees you have Iāve never had to carry a sample of my water with me before purchasing from your storeās I understand if the fish dies and I want a refund then I need the water sample but this wasnāt the case. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time buying pig ears at Petco (I usually shop at PetSmart for my two puppies, who to me are my babies), and I was blown away by the customer service I received. I had an issue with my order, and John went above and beyond to make it right.
What stood out most is that he didnāt just focus on selling a productāhe genuinely cared about my puppiesā well-being and exchanged the bad pig ear for a good one. I decided to purchase the $18.99 6oz pig ear bag instead. These days, pets arenāt ājust pets like people think āāthey are our family and our fur babies. John truly understood that. His kindness, respect, and empathy made me feel valued as both a customer and a person.
As someone new to Texas, that kind of treatment meant a lot. Because of John, Petco has earned me as a loyal customerāno more PetSmart for me. I truly hope management recognizes him; he deserves appreciation, would make an amazing supervisor or manager, and I sincerely hope he gets a raise.
Thank you, John, for providing the best customer service Iāve ever...
