Bought a fantastic Diamondback bike at this store. The bike is absolutely fantastic and I would buy another one in a second, however when I bought it they had a man go over the bike to make sure everything was working right and to make any necessary adjustments. It appeared that he was new because the handle bars needed to be adjusted. He did not know how to do it and a manager came over and told him how to do it.
He also said he would check the brakes and derailleurs. He said it was all set and I noticed the rear right brake was touching the rim and the left one had a big gap. He said it was fine.
I took the bike for a ride the next day and when I leaned forward on the handle bars they spun around. It almost caused me to crash. He forgot to tighten them after adjusting them. The rear brakes also after pressing the brakes rubbed on the right side and was making squeaking noises. It also would not shift into the 7th gear.
I called to bring it back and they said the repair technician works only two days. I asked them if I could make an appointment and they said they do not take appointments, and just to bring it in. When I brought it in on Friday the gentleman who gave me an unsafe bike wrote up the work order and said it may be done on Monday, or should at the latest the next Monday, and pointed to the bikes that are waiting to be fixed.
I said this is a brand new bike and you had not set it up correctly. They should be able to fix and make it right. He said sorry, you will have to wait. He then showed me the price list for repairs. I said there should be no charge as it was supposed to be setup for free. He said sorry but no. I then took the bike to Oliver's Cycle Sports and they fixed it while I was waiting, and it...
Read moreWent in to the Wesley Chapel location today to buy a new tarp. They literally had 1 in stock. Not one model, 1 tarp. No big deal. The manager and rep were nice enough. Felt good until we got the the check out. Based on the receipt it says her name was Monica. Pretty sure Monica needed a hug today and wanted to let the world know it. We thought there was a tax holiday for hurricane supplies in florida starting today and brought it up when we were charged sales tax. She was rather smug in her response of I didn't know. I check on the web and it did indeed say it was a tax holiday. No biggy I guess then she tried to call the manager over the radio and it was like we werent even there. Her and the girl greeting at the door started talking to each other and joking saying wonder if they heard this time and is this thing on. Referring to her radio. She was very offputting and had a very bad demenour. At the end she literally said whatever took the tax off herself slapped the receipt down and turned away and began talking to the other girl again. I know things suck right now , but you could at least pretend to give a damn. Actually just be corgial or polite. Maybe...
Read moreExcellent customer service! Noah helped me for an hour and a half with my bike selection. He listened for what I considered valuable and helped compare specs between two bikes (Mongoose comp and expert). Many specs, like weight were not in Dick's systems and Noah worked with me to find the info externally to decide on the expert and understand it's extra cost. But then, inventory only had an XL size which at the end didn't fit me (my height needed a L instead of the XL). A nearby store indicated they had a large and Noah volunteered to call them to be sure before I drove 45 mins over there). When they actually didn't have the bike Noah tried to help me order it to be delivered to his store but the system still thought the nearby store had one so it didn't allow the in store order. Thru all this Noah had a never give up mindset and when I apologized to him for taking up so much time he answered back that this was all about Dick's wanting to be sure I had the best service possible to get exactly the right bike... No problems, he said. Where did this level of service go in this day and age? What a great store experience,...
