I walked into a hallmark store for the first time today, and immediately, right near the entrance, spotted a Thomas Kinkade address book with Everetts cottage on the front. I've loved his art since before it was popular. So I looked around some more and all the pretty things, the cool things, the sparkly things, the nifty trinkets and deep meaningful objects...just made it hard for me to rush through. It was neat, clean, and welcoming with plenty of space so that I could easily avoid all the other customers and maintain my personal space. I ended up buying a Yoda mug as a gift for a star wars fan and the nice lady at the counter even put tissue paper around it and put it in a box for me! It even smelled nice in this shop and the power of smell is very important, not to be underestimated. :D I hope they stay...
Read moreMy second visit here. My first visit was last year (2017). The elderly lady who rang me up acted as though I was trying to get something for nothing...she had no reason to behave this way. I bought an address book ($20+). We didn't talk. Perhaps she's had bad experiences with people trying to rip her off or something. She was very nervous and acted paranoid. SURE made me feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed (for NO reason on my part). BTW, I'm in my 60s.

Read moreI would not recommend this store to anyone. We spent over an hour in this place looking at charms. When we waited in line at the cashier and asked her to open the case so we could get 3 charms she told us she couldn't do it because there was a line behind us ( 2 people) so we ended up waiting another 15 minutes before she would open the case. Very poor...
