This is the first online review I’ve ever written — and unfortunately, it’s because my experience with Basia Rose Designs was so disappointing and unprofessional, it deserves to be publicly addressed.
I hired Basia Rose Designs for bridal alterations with a clear deadline ahead of my international destination wedding. Despite initially presenting herself as capable and reassuring me that the work would be completed on time, the process quickly unraveled into a series of delays, excuses, and poor-quality work.
Here’s what happened:
She used the wrong fabric — not the one I selected and paid for. She later admitted this only after I pointed it out to her. Additionally, two completely different fabrics were used without my approval, and the final look did not match the agreed design. • The alterations were incomplete and rushed: the dress was not properly taken in, appliqués that were partially applied were crooked, and she altered design elements without consulting me. • She missed key deadlines. The fitting was pushed dangerously close to my international flight, despite her repeated assurances that everything would be done on time. • She accepted this job knowing the timeline and assured me it was more than enough time to complete the work. I trusted her based on her confidence and professionalism at the start — and had she expressed any doubt or limitations, I would have gone elsewhere. • She failed to communicate professionally, rescheduling fittings at the last minute, and being vague and inconsistent about what was complete or still being worked on. • She gave false reassurances about her progress and then cited personal matters (like preparing for her daughter’s graduation and family gatherings) as excuses for delays. By the time I got a fitting, we were just 2 days away from my flight — and I had no assurance the dress would be ready or wearable. • She charged a rush fee, which I paid and wasn’t an issue at all. The problem was her poor time management and failure to deliver quality work under a deadline she agreed to. I was even met with a condescending attitude when she made comments like, “I don’t usually work Sundays,” as if I should be grateful she was agreeing to fix her own mistakes on a Sunday.
After all this, I had no choice but to take my dress elsewhere — just a day and a half before my international flight — and pray someone could salvage it in time. Thankfully, I found Built by Stacy, and she was an absolute godsend. She assessed the damage, did a full fitting, repaired the poor workmanship, and restored my dress to better than I expected. She was kind, responsive, skilled, and professional from start to finish. If you need someone dependable who takes your vision and your timeline seriously — contact Built by Stacy. I will be leaving her a separate review soon to properly recognize her excellence.
Meanwhile, Basia Rose Designs is now trying to rewrite the facts and claim I requested last minute changes and everything was done as agreed — which is simply untrue. Let me be clear: I didn’t ask for changes — I did ask for corrections due to mistakes she made due to poor execution, poor time management, and a lack of attention to detail. I have text messages, photos, and voice recordings to back up every part of this review.
This was one of the most important garments I will ever wear. Instead of feeling supported and excited, I was left stressed, scrambling, and deeply disappointed. I strongly advise anyone — to take your...
Read moreIt’s was the worst experience of my life. It’s my first wedding I’m in. I was last minute with my dress but she said she could get it done. And if she felt like she couldn’t that would have been fine with me I would have found someone else to do it. Then she bring the dress at midnight the day before the wedding. When I get the dress it was behind horrible. She also tried to give my dress to someone else to pick it up like I wasn’t the one doing business with her. Then she has the nerve to txt the next day and say I apologize the way she did business and that she took off today if it was anything that need to be fixed Before the wedding . Like girl u can pay for this dress I’m rushing to go get from the store so I can make the wedding in time. I do not ever wanna experience a...
Read moreI came here a few months back to get a shirt altered for a wedding. What I asked for what not what I got and when I asked for some kind of compensation, I was denied and it got complicated. Time is important so that’s a non factor at this point. What asked for was what I should have received the first time and the second time I asked to have the shirt put back to its original state with the same fabric so I can try elsewhere. Once again the shirt is not how I asked it to be and definitely worse then what it was. I am not happy with how things have gone and I know that she doesn’t care to compensate for any mistakes she has made and that is just poor customer service as a...
