I shopped at Kohl's on 12/6 in the late afternoon. While waiting my turn to be waited in the jewelry section, a kohl's employee and a customer were taken care of their business while I looked in the jewelry display. The customer made an inappropriate joke that I was coming to steal her stuff - they both laughed, I was appalled, and I am sure by the look on face let them know, it wasn't funny. Both of the women were Caucasian and I, an African American female. I am bringing this up because Kohl's is one of my favorite stores and do not want anyone else to experience this type of behavior. I know there is nothing that can be said for the customer because that was on her, however with the employee laughing about something so ridiculous was extremely disrespectful and out of line. One of my worst mall experiences ever, and that is saying something because I'm not a big fan of malls to begin with and I've been in malls across the country and around the world. The biggest drawback here is this little center kiosks that you have to walk by when heading to different stores. The people they have working in this mall are so incredibly, in-your-face, let me sell you this pushy. Usually if you just walk by without looking at the products, they ignore you. That's how it's been pretty much everywhere I've been, with just one or two even trying to pull you in. But here? Every single salesperson you walk by jumps out at you and literally stands in your way to make you talk to them. There was one guy in particular who even grabbed my arm! We like to come here to shop at Menard's. They always have good prices and their rebates are great, we usually come back in with at least 2 dollars rebate which can be applied like a coupon. Just check your receipt and pick up the proper form to fill out, a little extra time is worth it 😊 For those people questioning whether this is a mall, it is by definition a shopping mall, but it's more commonly known as a "strip mall" as opposed to an indoor mall where all the shops are interconnected and indoors.
