This Piggly Wiggly is clean. They are making upgrades and painting in the store to modernize it. The one thing isn't modern it's the wonderful customer service that you received throughout the store. Everybody has time to talk to Shoppers even the younger staff are polite courteous and welcoming. It's nice that the store honors all different peoples nationalities and traditions. It's a smaller store so it's easy to navigate. Also there are special spots throughout the store where they take products that are close to the end of shelf life according to the sticker but you know (you can use that food up to two weeks after the date on the sticker) well they mark them down so they're not tossing food away. I've actually use this opportunity to taste things that I would not pay full price for and now I pay full price for it because I like them. They have restrooms in the back of the store for customers that are handicapped accessible the aisles are wide no worries about not having space between cards or not being able to use riding carts which they also have for customers to use. The atmosphere is always cheerful the lighting is not that harsh lighting to the eyes. The store smells clean it doesn't smell of chemicals it doesn't smell of bad fish it doesn't smell overwhelmingly of one item over the other in the bakery. Your Piggly Wiggly member card also adds up points as you shop so that you are able to get a discount at the gas station and able to get products at lesser cost. They also have online clip coupons and they have promotional flyers. They actually unlike other stores plow out there handicapped spaces and not use them as dumping grounds...
Read moreThey carry some hard to find items and have a great selction of meat. Extremely courteous and pleasant with customers and children. Note recent downgrade from 5 stars due to consistent and constant needlessly deceitful practices. Today for the 6th time in less than a year the store failed to stock a sale item listed on the front page of their ad. I could understand making the mistake once. 6 times in a year is purposeful. The new added practice is to replace the item with a substandard and sometimes inedible alternative rather than offer rain checks as in the past. While I am sympathetic to their business as among what is now a glut of grocers in the area, I cannot imagine that this particular tactic is likely to win over customers. I was perfectly willing to spend a bit more to support the store and appreciated the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff this business practice has about driven me away. It's not at all about a a few dollars difference on some sale items, it is about honesty. I imagine they will either straighten out and begin to focus on their strengths to remain viable in the market or they will likely lose the customer base they...
Read moreAt the end of a light shopping trip to your store at 10282 W National Ave in West Aliis I found the milk coolers mostly empty for the second time in a week. Only some gallons and 1/2 gallons of 1%. I went in there especially for a 1/2 gallon of 2% and picked up several more items. When I went to the service counter to ask if they had any, I was told that "they get what they get and that's it." Mind you it's Friday just after 1 pm. "Is this how to run a grocery store," I asked. I was ready to buy the few other items when I was approached by a light haired stocky man in a plain maroon shirt without identification who told me to leave the store. He approached me in a threatening manner and although no physical contact was made he continued to follow me to the door saying in a condescending manner, "OH! Somebody ran out of milk! This tone became threating to me as he followed me out to the parking lot and approached my car with a phone camera and threatened to call the police. They do not want my business. I have plenty of time to campaign...
