Fast Eddie's — Local services in West Baden Springs

The first time we visited Fast Eddie’s (mid-August of this year), the service and food were both excellent. However, on our second visit, the service was poor and the fish sandwiches were inedible (the breading was tough and there really wasn’t much in the way of fish on the inside of it). The woman just slapped potato wedges in our meals without asking if that was our preferred side. Frankly, her attitude made us feel very odd, as though we had personally offended her (we hadn’t).

Our third visit was average in service and the food was okay.

Yesterday, we decided to stop in for lunch. When we asked the man taking our order for fries, he informed is that after 4 pm they do not keep fries ready because they don’t sell (this was probably around 4:15 pm). He told us it would be three minutes to fix fries and that was fine with us. He had already pulled out the sandwich meat for one of our orders and when we said we were okay waiting for the fries he tossed the piece of meat back into the bin. We were a little shocked and decided to go elsewhere.

In a town with so few options for food I suppose there’s less need for good customer service. Few competitors sort of traps people into putting up with rudeness and less than fresh food.

Originally, I rated this place five stars. It was so nice to have good service and good food at a good price. I’ve downgraded my rating because of two of the last three visits have been unpleasant. I don’t envision returning to the restaurant in the future if I do, I will update my review accordingly.

To end on a positive note, I will say that their prepackaged salads, such as the grilled chicken salad, are very good. The prices for the combo meals are also good. I would be a repeat customer if the food freshness and service issues...

I stop here at least 1-3 times a day. This is the your one stop shop to get gas, snacks, some off the wall goodies you can’t find in stores, fresh bean roasted coffee you make yourself, fresh sweet tea and of course lemonade.

If you can’t decide what to eat then you won’t leave empty handed. Some of the freshest gas station food you can sink your teeth into.

Chicken, potato wedges like no other. Wednesday is Fish special with the best fresh fish and hush puppies that call for at least an extra 3 , you won’t be sorry and I’m not even a hush puppies fan!

If you want Pizza, chili, salad, coconut cream pie, sushi, I could go on and on. It is always completed with a happy and friendly smiling team member and fresh attitude to make your day just as nice!

visiting around 11pm, the women at the counter was very rude to me and others when in the gas station. i was checking out with a drink and she repeated the total to me 3 times while i was counting cash out for her. afterwards i saw someone i knew and had a short conversation, their sisters went ahead looking around for what they wanted and the woman snapped at them wanting them to check out now, as they were looking at snacks, and then proceeded to kick the sisters out while they waited for my friend...
