Today 5/15/2025, I went to urgent care on Augusta Highway in West Columbia due to my blood pressure and heart rate spiking at work. It was one of the first facilities that I was able to get to that was close to my job. My coworker and I walked in and spoke to the front desk, receptionist who stated they couldn’t treat me however they could check my vital signs and that will be free if there’s anything that was wrong, they would send me to the ER. I advised that I understood and was then called to the back to have my vitals checked. Once I had my vitals checked I was told to wait in one of the rooms with my coworker Kristi. We waited and less than 2 minutes a PA came in by the name of Mike Greene. The initials on his shoulder said M.D. Mike Greene PA. He did not greet us with a hello, he automatically came in with this projected anger. I was expecting “Good evening, I am ….” but I didn’t. He came in very aggressive yelling and screaming that my blood pressure was not up and they do not treat patients for blood pressure issues. He kept repeating himself as he got closer to me. I was stunned and throwed completely off. Not sure what to say I stayed calm and stated that I have been to the ER twice. He then cut me off and yelled “You need to go see your PCP.” If he would have allowed me to finish my statement I would have advised this. Me typing this does not equate to the disrespect that was shown. I stayed calm as he was yelling because I honestly was scared. He was in my face and I asked him to please back up so I may leave when I stated that he yelled “WHAT” then again I stated I am leaving because and my friend finished the statement and said you are very aggressive. I then stated yes you are very aggressive. He asked my PCPs name and I told him but I told him I was leaving one last time. He then sarcastically stated “your blood pressure is fine”. Nit one time did he correct his behavior or apologize. As I left, I thanked the receptionist and I did tell her that a new PA should be needed at the facility and unfortunately I would have to report Mike Green the PA at Prisma on Augusta Road. She said she understood. I have never experience the rudeness and the disrespect from any medical professional ever. Mike Green was very intimidating, unprofessional, unpleasant and had me afraid. His bedside manners were horrible. I typically don’t deal with blood pressure issues and not really understanding what’s going on is already frightening. This is a new issue within the past two weeks. He did not help if everything was OK. I cannot sit back and allow someone to disrespect me and think that there is no consequence. If he did it to me he would do it to others. I would love a follow...
Read moreI came into the office and was placed in the back rather quickly. Triage was completed and I waited for the doctor to arrive. The PA, Mark Green walked in and told me that the office did not have capabilities to complete any scans or blood work during my visit. He then suggests that he can write a referral for me to obtain a new PCP (which I declined, because an appointment has already been scheduled months ago with my current PCP) or go to the emergency room if I had an emergency. He listened to my breathing and told me they were only a walk-in office. He exited the examination room without saying anything. For clarification, when he walked out of that room he didn’t look back nor did he say have a good day to indicate that the conversation was complete. The nurse that performed my triage said “See you later Mrs. Cooper”, which further lets me know he had no intention on coming back into the examination room. To add insult to injury, he prescribed medication that he didn’t even remotely discuss with me nor the nurse that completed my triage. I was notified on my way from the office via text message that the medication was sent to my local pharmacy. I’m no doctor, but I’m pretty sure protocol is pretty much the same across ALL Prisma offices. Once you are being prescribed something new either the doctor or the nurse will return to the room notify the patient of said new medications and ask if there are any questions. None of that took place! This type of nonchalant behavior is what keeps people from coming to the doctor’s offices. This experience has left me utterly DISGUSTED and I will NEVER use this office...
