I have been visiting this CVS location since August 2018. I went the first time from curiosity about their makeup and skin care.
When you go in, you can become a member of the free Beauty rewards club. Each week, you will receive at least 1 - 4 beauty coupons in your email, which you can click to send to your CVS card. You need to check the coupon expiration date. Some are good for only 1 day.
Then you should look at the CVS ad/circular online or in-store to see the deals for the week. Deals run from Sunday to Saturday at midnight (12am Sunday). You will see deals listed brand by brand which tell you if you spend $12 in Maybelline, for example, you will receive $4 extra bucks on your receipt or in your online/app account after you pay. You can then take the $4 extra bucks, rip/cut it off your receipt (there is a bar code the cashier scans), and purchase another item. You will pay $4 less than the listed price on that next item. You can go find another brand with a good deal and use your $4 extra bucks on that. Or you can take it home (the extra bucks are usually good for 20-30 days) and watch the ads for the next week to see if there's another brand with a great deal featured.
I always check the free CVS app and my email every day that I'm planning to visit CVS. I see what department has coupons, and I click on Beauty, Personal Care, Health Care, etc. I save any coupons I'm interested in to my card. Most of these get printed out at the red kiosk. But the ones that come to me in my email stay on my account and can be applied at checkout.
The first time I went in to look at Makeup in August 2018, I chose a highly raved about baked blush called Luminoso. I knew that blush might be $7.99 at Walmart, but Walmart will not give me $7 extra bucks when I pay. So even if I'm paying $3 more to get those extra bucks, I now have $5 more than I would have had if I purchased at Walmart.
When I go to the 7777 S Redwood Rd CVS location at night, I'm always greeted politely. Usually the staff person tells me if I need them to help me with anything, just ask. I go straight to the red kiosk to enter my card number or phone number print my coupons.
My favorite makeup deals so far:
Choose carefully, because you are only allowed to get the deal one time. When you pay, your CVS account keeps track of whether you already redeemed that deal for that week.
It pays to be patient! Don't just shrug and say, "Well, I'm already here so I'll just spend my extra bucks on anything." Save it for what you really want!
Purchase everything that will give you Extra Bucks separately, so you can use each extra bucks voucher on the next item. You have to figure out before approaching the checkout, what is the best deal and order to purchase each item or brand specific product.
The night staff employees at this CVS are very sweet, helpful, fun, friendly, and patient. I began going late at night after work, and I like not having a crowd to shimmy around or wait for someone to scoot over when I'm browsing through the makeup aisles...
Read moreSo I have gone to this store maybe a total of 12 times my whole 30 years in Utah. CVS is one of my very favorite stores ever! I've never had an issue with shopping at this CVS up until yesterday! As soon as I walked in, I see the jewelry section in the very front of the store. Of course I walked over and started looking at what they had, and right away I noticed a younger female employee walk by where I was standing and holding a couple rings in my hand because I wasn't able to put them in the cart with the rest of the jewelry I picked out because they would have fell through the cart because they were too small. As soon as we made eye contact I already knew that she had already made the assumption that I was there to shoplift,b I was holding them in my hand I'm assuming. after she walked out of sight it was just a few seconds after I heard them call security over the intercom. I really didn't think much of it at that point because of course I was not there to shoplift! Well every aisle after that I noticed I had a shadow following me! And I became very irritated and frustrated and even uncomfortable at this!!! My boyfriend had came in a little while after and I had told him to pay attention to the next aisle we walk down because we were going to have the same lady at that next aisle. Sure enough there she was! There was three different ones following me around the store the whole time! At this point I was furious so I went up to the front to check out and I had asked the employee at the cash register if there was a reason why they have employees following around their paying customers. She looked over at one of the other ones that were following me and told me to ask her. That lady had told me that security was called because I was over in the jewelry section quit looking at jewelry with my purse in the cart and it was opened!!!! Ummmm first off, I thought that's what the jewelry was there for was to look at & to purchase the ones you picked out!!! I had no idea I wasn't able to bring my purse inside the store and set it in the cart with it being open! I do not understand how this was a problem and why it got security called to follow me around! I didn't ask to security employee lady if she would like to look in my purse and she told me no. I told her that I felt it was very rude that they treated their customers that way and very uncomfortable! And then my boyfriend told them that it was very disrespectful and they shouldn't act like that off sumption and not facts. She then told us that if we did not like it and felt that way that we didn't have to come back to that store again. So we left all the items in the cart and walked out because we were refused to give them any of our business!!! I cannot believe how rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful and very unprofessional all these employees were! I will NEVER go back to that CVS...
Read moreI have never left a review, I am a major people pleaser and I don't like confrontation. However, my experience with this pharmacy has been so incredibly frustrating and absolutely ridiculous. I have used CVS for over a decade, and have not had as many issues in 10 years as I have with this CVS in 2 months. I typically use the app to refill my prescriptions, and rarely have any problems. With this location, every time I request a refill on the app, it sits for days saying "in process". Every time, I have to call to tell them I need it refilled, and then magically they are able to get it filled that day. When calling this location, I have to sit on hold for 20 minutes or more. I have to call multiple times to get them to answer. I understand that most places are understaffed right now, but every time I have gone in person, the few people that are there have been standing around talking to each other, and even flirting. The final thing that made me leave this review was today when I called to refill an incredibly important prescription. I requested a refill 3 days ago, and it has said "in process" since then, as usual. I called twice, and when someone finally answered, I told her that I needed the prescription refilled, and she very tersely told me that it was in process. In a kind voice (again, I am a people pleaser) I said, "Ok I was just calling to make sure because I requested a refill on the 7th", and before I even finished my sentence, she cut me off and said in an incredibly rude tone, "Ok yeah fine we got it, we'll get it filled" and promptly hung up on me. I would not recommend this location to anyone. They are rude, inconsistent, and are unable to get their customers the medications they need without a fight. I am by no means a Karen, I have never left a review, I have never asked for a manager, I have never sent a dish back at a restaurant, even when it was wrong or undercooked. To be honest, sometimes I feel like I have cooked spaghetti for a spine. But my experience with this pharmacy has been so frustrating, especially since many of my medications are extremely vital to my health and everyday...
