Went in with my partner to shop, the moment we walked in the older lady asked us if we needed anything in a condescending tone. Then she went to the side loudly gossiping to the other old lady in the store in Tongan thinking we didnāt understand, saying we werenāt gonna buy anything and that we were just going to put our stuff back and leave and talking about us, not knowing that my boyfriend understood Tongan and knew what they were saying. He then spoke to her in Tongan asking for a necklace at the front and the ladyās face changed when she figured out he understood everything they were saying about us. Tried playing nice especially after hearing what my bfs family last name was. So sad to get judged and discriminated by his own race and embarrassing.
