Lidl — Local services in West Whiteland Township

This grocery store is a Godsend. It's somewhat hidden away in the Exton Shopping Center, next to the Xfinity Store. Lidl is a German company, and is designed in the European style. It's fully stocked with high quality foodstuffs, divided into sections. Bakery, Meat, Produce, Dairy, and rows of dry goods featuring bedding sets, clothing, cookware, and knick knacks. There are several regional gourmet areas, such as Italian and Kosher. Each section also offers a Lidl brand of groceries; soups, sauces, dressings, and so on. But the best part of shopping at Lidl is the prices. Name brands are commensurate with Grocery Outlet, with a higher level of quality. Some of the sale prices I noticed were Chicken Stock for $1.77, Coffee Pods for $4.77, Creamer for $2.69. I purchased 6 large bags of nice groceries for $83.64; including meats, produce, and accompaniments. Interestingly, the Manager asked me to not take photos inside the store! Be prepared to pay for bags, paper or high quality totes, and to bag your own groceries. You've gotta move fast. But as I said, the store is designed on the European style which does cater to bratty Americans. (LOL). When Aldi's bought Bottom Dollar I was really upset. Lidl has filled the gap, but better. I give it a 9.5/10. This will be my new grocery...

LIDL is now my favorite grocery store to shop at! The staff here is amazing at the Exton, PA location! So helpful, friendly and fast with checking out! I sometimes can't keep up packing my bags lol! So most of the time, I just throw the stuff in my cart and pack my own bags in the parking lot. Which is fine by me! Remember bring your OWN BAGS! No plastic bags here! Which I love!

I have been even trying majority of Lidl's brand name products and compare them to the name brand product! I have ONLY found one product I was not a fan of. That is the Cheddar penguins compared to goldfish. I just didnt like the taste but that is my opinion. Everything else product wise is AMAZING!

AND THE PRICES ARE AMAZING!!! SO WATCH FOR THE CIRCULAR FOR THOSE SALES!

Though sometimes you find a product you love then its gone... That is my only complaint. But that's the name of the game sometimes. Lol! It is a new store in my area, so I realize they are testing the water on alot of products to see what sells. But do not be afraid to try their brand! Heck, I even bought shrimp for the first time in my life because of the price! But, I faced my fear and cooked shrimp! They came out perfect, and my dinner came out amazing!

So try Lidl if you haven't!...

Customer service is some of the worst I’ve ever experienced…the cashiers have never once greeted me or say anything other than “do you have the Lidl app” - which isn’t the end of the world. But today when I went in the cashier was busy flirting and laughing with another worker (who was 20+ years younger than her…) She was not paying attention to what she was doing while checking me out and she missed the belt so one of my items fell on the ground under the cashier area. She didn’t notice, or didn’t care, and when I told her she just stared at me and then glanced at the item underneath. Then I had to ask her to pick it up, since I clearly couldn’t get to it…she then kicks it WITH HER FEET so she could reach it, picks it up and puts it with my other stuff. Just ew. Then the entire time I was bagging my stuff she was glaring at the other worker while he laughed.

As I was leaving there was a gentleman complaining to the manager about his experience as well.

Training 101 should probably include “don’t touch customers food with your feet” and then maybe teach them how to smile and greet customers properly. I would be horrified if I managed...
