I ordered a juicy boneless chicken Mandi for ToGo. They charged me 43$. I collected around 7pm and I had tasted it around 9 pm. I could smell the food was already stale by then. Chicken was good but there was a bad smell from the rice(which we get when the rice goes bad). Called the restaurant, initially was told that they will speak to manager and get back to me. Then after an hour another person called, took the order details and asked me to wait for the call back. No response that day. Next day, I waited till evening, yet no call from them. Then I called, the person took the call and started saying, we have 30 orders yesterday and no one complained. Then started saying that they told me they will give me discount(no one actually conveyed that). And I’m not here for a discount. They’re thinking about refund or discount.
My main concern was food safety, what if children eat the spoiled food, they wouldn’t know if the food is bad. I ordered 3times in one week since they were open. It was all good until then. I know it’s a new store and busy one on weekend. The response towards customer is too bad. They’re not OK to take inputs and not even thinking there might be a slight chance of food going bad.
Only Suggestion, please smell the food(especially Mandi) before taking...
Read moreGreat food with excellent taste. Chairs were comfortable to sit. Menu has lot of options but few are not yet started, so better to check what is available and opt for the best. We tried Chicken 65, Chilli Goat Ghee Roast, Butter Naan, Chicken Mughalai, Gongura Chicken Dum Biriyani. Chicken 65 tasted excellent and kids loved that. Goat Roast tasted so nice and spicy. Perfect appetizers. Butter Naan was so soft. Chicken Mughalai also good with boneless chicken. Gongura Chicken Dum Biriyani was also so good. Kept all the Gongura hidden in the bottom of the bowl with Biriyani on top. 3 pieces of chicken in Biriyani. Chicken was so tender in all the dishes. Goat appetizer was with bone and that tender compared to chicken.
Table service was good with complementary water bottle instead of glass of water which is nice.
Little hard to find the restroom as no indications available. Separate Restrooms for Men & Women. Automatic lights and we'll maintained.
This place attracts all age groups. They do have high chairs for toddlers. It appears less space and tables at the front side of the main entrance but they do have more tables at other side but need to walk little.
All kind of payment options available. Plenty of parking available as this resides in Main...
Read moreMost of our 6 person group are vegetarians, we got good recommendations and the menu is clearly labeled "Veg" and "Non-Veg". I and the guest of honor are huge fans of Indian cuisine, though we are more familiar with northern Indian dishes. So we encouraged the others to try it. Most were a bit apprehensive about it being too spicy (chili pepper hot). We all thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of our food (with the exception of our 13yo who enjoys miso soup, mushrooms and veg sushi rolls, but not anything remotely spicy). While we specifically requested very mild spicy level, most found the food too hot. Only 2 of us have put any effort into expanding our chili pepper heat level tolerance, the rest really have none. The patient waitress did ask at one point if we found the food to be too spicy, I said some of us did. She quietly responded with an astonished expression (that only I noticed), which said to me that she can't imagine making it any milder. All that to say that I am enjoying leftovers from several other people's meals ;). I would totally recommend Southern Spice to anyone who enjoys wonderfully flavorful food, that's at least a...
