My first visit (for 2 of us eating inside the restaurant) was on a Wednesday evening, and they were not busy, but it took 20-minutes from the time ordered (6:22pm) until we received our order (at 6:42pm). We had only ordered 4 tacos and 1 quesadilla. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was average at-best. The flour taco shells were not soft, and were difficult to wrap around the contents, likely because the shells probably sat for 15+ minutes during the 20-minutes it took for them to prepare the food. The blackened fish tacos weren't blackened at all. The quesadilla was BBQ chicken, and the only thing you could taste was BBQ sauce. There were at least 3 or 4 workers there, so they weren't short-staffed, but all of them seemed like they didn't know how to do anything. The workers were friendly and nice, but clearly hadn't been trained properly in the simplest things. We watched one worker struggle for a while with how to put a small online order into a large bag. It was comical at first, but then seemed sad and pathetic. I suspect that our order was delayed because the workers decided to put the eat-in customer orders on hold while they grappled with filling a few simple online orders. Luckily I used a $10 coupon, because if I had paid the full $33 cost, I would've been very unhappy. Since this was a trial run and it cost around $23, I just put this place on my list of restaurants to NOT go to ever again. Honestly, you'd be better off going to Taco Bell, and I hate saying that because most Taco Bells are lousy too. A better choice for the price would be...
Read moreI used to work here and loved it, until we underwent a change of ownership, who then refused to give me my final check until almost 6 months after I ended my employment. They told me that they would mail me my final check, and it never arrived. I (very politely) asked for months where it was and new management always told me that it was sent and on its way. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it got lost in the mail, so I asked them to cancel the original one, and write me a new one. I reached out to CalTort corporate to help achieve this, and only then did I get my check, except it was the original. My original check finally arrived, creased in the middle, covered in muck and nastiness, appearing like it had been used as a coaster for someone's coffee on someone's desk for all of the months I had been begging for it. The mail out date reads 20 NOV, 2023. 4 months after I ended my employment in August. I was lied to and told it was sent in the mail for months, only to then get my original check, which was now void, since it was issued 120+ days prior. We did this dance for a few more weeks for the new check, and I was once again told it had been sent for weeks. I finally received the new check after another month of waiting, and it had been sent only 3 days prior. I was lied to repeatedly and not made a priority after being a valuable part of their team. I loved working here during my time, but new ownership made it clear that they don't respect or value their employees, both during and after...
Read moreEDITED The owner and corporate reached out to me and apologized. They said they went over allergy policies with their staff and told me where they went wrong. I will add a star for good customer service. While the employees that specific day didn't seem empathetic, everyone at the higher levels did so I'm hoping they educate the staff to take it seriously as well.
Original review: Almost killed me😕 I have a dairy allergy. I ordered a taco without cheese and not only did they not label which was for me (I told them about my allergy), they put cheese on it anyway. I thankfully noticed before eating it but barely, since the cheese is at the bottom of the taco. Once remade, it was really good. But they didn't seem phased or feel at all bad about how dangerous that...
