The store aisles seemed cramped, it was impossible to determine the store departments were, and the inventory on the shelves was a mess. I had never seen a Walmart that seemed so poorly setup and off putting. I was there to do a pickup on an order I had placed on the web. I had received two notifications that it was ready for pickup. The first said part of my order was ready, and the second that the rest of my order was available.
The only signage to the pickup area just pointed to the back of the store. I wandered most of the rear of the store until I saw it tucked away in an inconspicuous nook. Although the pickup was posted to be open to 8 pm, when I arrived at 7:20 pm the lights were out and no one was available to help. I asked a guy cleaning the floor who told me the regular person had left earlier at 7 pm and it was closed, but who agreed to call for someone when I insisted.
A store employee finally showed up and rather ungraciously started to help. He ignored the scan codes on my notices and looked the order up by my last name. He finally emerged with a single box which struck me as wrong and I asked if he was certain there wasn’t a second package. Even though his device listed the box’s content as only part of my order, he insisted there was no other packages for me in the back. I asked if he would open the box so I could check what was inside but he refused, saying that he had retrieved everything there was.
When I got to my car I opened the box. Half my order was missing. I had ordered glue guns, but without the glue sticks I ordered with them, they were useless. I went back into the store and asked at customer service to see the store manager. After at least 10 minutes the store manager appeared. I told him my story and asked him to go to the pickup area with me. He was pushing a cart with inventory which he continued to place out as we walked to the pickup area. He explained that the scheduling system was giving them trouble and the employee assigned to the area was only scheduled to work through 7 pm. When we got to the area he tried to look up my order on his handheld device, which wasn’t working. He called to another employee to trade devices and sure enough he found two entries under my name. He went into the back and returned with the rest of my order, while the man who had originally helped me defensively insisted there had only been one entry on the station when he had looked.
Since I had my full order I just thanked them both and left. The whole process had taken more than 30 minutes and left me vowing never to set foot in that Walmart again. What would have been a well oiled process at any other major store, had been a nightmarish experience. Read moreFor the most part I don't usually have too many complaints about Walmart, besides the lines and untidiness of shelves. But this time! Oh no! I came here for one thing only and that was baby formula! The process of getting baby formula is ridiculous! The baby formula is put behind the glass which you have to push a button and wait for an Walmart associate to come assist you which never happens. So not only did you waste time with waiting but now you have to spend more time with finding a Walmart associate and when you do most of them don't have the key to open up the glass door that the baby formula is behind!!!! So you get to run around with that being Walmart employees shift the issue to the next Walmart employee. Will you do finally get someone to open up the glass door you can't even put your baby formula in your cart to finish shopping. They take the baby formula up to customer service counter for you to get in line at a regular register and then for that cashier to wait on someone to bring you your baby formula! The whole system is unorganized and chaotic! If it's such a problem like that why not put the baby formula where the customer service counter is? This way you can pay for the baby formula right there, it doesn't have to be behind a glass door because the Walmart associate can get it for you right there once you pick out the formula that you want. Now I know some may say then don't go to Walmart altogether for that item; but at this point I didn't have a choice! Some baby formulas are currently experiencing a shortage problem with that being said Walmart had this in particular formula that my baby needed medically wise. So I had to deal with them for this reason only! I just wish that their system was set up less stressful. Read moreWorst experience ever I ordered 2 tires & insulation of those 2 tires a desk and a office chair paid online. 2 days later I get a couple emails from Walmart 1st they canceled the desk I ordered they didn't trust the seller, 2nd email tires are ready but there weren't, 3rd email they canceled the installation of those tires. So I call the store and get a bunch of we can't from them. I called Walmart online to get told more lies. Next day 4th email now my tires are at the store I called the store to make sure. Well get there and only 1 tire is there, the manager tells me there's nothing she can do I have to deal with online so yet another call this was 730am well by 430 both tires are there go back to have the tires installed they tell me its going to be like 2 hours ok I'm waiting and waiting an 1 ½ goes by i get a call from them telling me i got the wrong size what no i put the info Walmart asked for online and those are the size your website said to order. Well now it 730pm and they have refused to put those on for me so yet other call at this point im done with walmart i told the guys cancel the whole order and refund me. The chair while wait I was reading my account on Walmart n it said the chair was delivered the day before no never got it n it was my day off so i was home. well the guys says so sorry bs and says he will refund the whole order 10 days later u still haven't refunded me the money for the desk or chair. So I called they tell me I have to do this n that no I've done all that just refund me so on hold for 30 mins lady come on says her speech put back on hold 20 min then get hung up on. So Walmart sucks I remember why I stopped shopping there for over 2 years. I don't care what their prices r I'll pay a few extra dollars for better customer service.
