Extremely disappointed with this store. I will say that the staff was friendly and they did explain their processes, which I appreciated, however I came in with three full garment bags of nice clothing (work wear, cocktail dresses, nicer sweaters) and they took none of it. I should have known when they texted me they were finished going through my items literally like 5 minutes after I left the store. They couldn’t even be bothered to zip the bags back up when they were done. I was super excited to try this store after talking to a co-worker and also after having a terrible experience at Plato’s Closet years ago, because my understanding was that Style Encore accepted fancier items and work wear. I figured it would be a perfect place to take some of my items that were too nice to take to a thrift shop and weren’t exactly new, but weren’t totally off-trend either. Some items I loved, but either didn’t fit anymore after having a baby, or the colors washed me out against my fairer complexion but would look great on someone else. They want new, on-trend things, but as another reviewer commented, who buys clothes only to turn around and sell them like that? And honestly, I look at half the trends in retail stores right now and wonder how they’re even a trend. The styles are absolutely awful. And after seeing some of the things on Style Encore’s racks, I can’t believe they didn’t accept at least some of what I had. They need to consider that some pieces aren’t going to be on trend… some pieces are just timeless… but clearly they are not that sophisticated. I read once from a style expert that your wardrobe should be 70% timeless pieces and 30% trend pieces. That rule would serve everyone well considering how the fashion industry has a waste problem. Finally, the pictures of the inside of the store that are online are extremely misleading. I was surprised to walk into a darker, crowded, rather junky-looking store. I would not go back there. Instead I am looking to donate to a worthy cause or sell on a platform such as Poshmark, where I’ve had...
Read moreThis place is a joke! Again came by to get some items ( some are Italian brand names ) and of course none of them KIDS says hello and stand there staring at the walls. After asking the KID a few times where they want me to put my stuff, they took my information and txt me to a link to also fill out… to be told at the end to ignore the txt! Why send it???? Then told me to sign a paper saying if I don’t come back at the end of same day , they are entitled to sell my stuff. Then told me it will take 45 mts to sort it out.So, it wasn’t much but they let me leave and after I got in my car and drove off (5mts or less) , they txted me. I had other commitments so I came back before closing time. came in and again KIDS there , not a GROWNUP anywhere . Again KIDS clueless how to speak GROWNUP language, just staring blank at me and me at them because I was waiting for them to speak and let me know what it was taken or jot. I had to ask if anything had been kept , here’s the kicker: the kid was mumbling and staring at me but I couldn’t make out what she was saying. So in plain English after repeatedly saying to her HUH? So nothing was kept.. she kept repeating some lingo that seriously they need to stop using it. Just say: Ee are sorry, but at this moment we won’t be taking anything. Thank you for coming by and have a good day. None of that was said, the 3 KIDS there were just clueless how to speak to GROWN UP costumers or even have the basics of customer service which is : smile , greet the customer with hello and if they can help you. Serious this store needs to have at least a grown up there at all times bc the kids are not trained right. The managers need...
Read moreI have been a very loyal customer since they opened. Have found some wonderful things. BUT lately have noticed the quality of clothing they are accepting has gone way down hill- a lot of junk on the racks. And I have seen so many items many years old. Not even within the last two years, which they claim is their cut off. That is absolutely not true. I dropped off some beautiful items, Julie Brown, Melly M, Trina Turk to consign. One dress alone was over $200 retail and never worn. Only a few years old. I could not believe the girl turned everything down! When I look at some of the very outdated junk on the racks, I feel they really need to up their system of what they accept. And they pay you pennies on the dollar- it's such a rip off. Won't be back again and taking my business elsewhere. Some of their Lilly patterns are over 10 years old! They need to reconsider who their audience is. We are not looking to shop at Plato's closet. They seriously need to up their standards on the clothing. Such a shame they have gone so downhill and have more junk on the racks now...
